Enjoy a romantic getaway on the Isle of Wight with this delightful, end-of-terrace property. Spend your days exploring the island with your four-legged friend, from a stroll through the village of Freshwater to an energetic walk up Tennyson Down for spectacular views over the bay. At the end of the day, return to the village for a meal in one of the pubs or an al fresco supper in the enclosed courtyard back at the property.

 

This charming single-storey property has been modernised to create light and bright accommodation with fresh neutral decor and homely touches throughout. Rustle up romantic meals for two in the compact yet well-equipped kitchen area, before dining at the table for two nearby. In the evenings, snuggle down on the sofa in the lounge area and watch your favourite film on the Smart TV while your faithful four-legged friend snoozes happily on the rug at your feet. Rest weary heads in the enchanting double bedroom which is one step down from the lounge. The double bedroom opens onto the decked terrace through patio doors and has one step up to a modern en-suite shower room. Stepping outside, there is plenty of space to enjoy an al fresco meal in the sunshine.

 

Set in the heart of the pretty village of Freshwater, this delightful property overlooks the charming thatched church and is within easy walking distance of the local shops, pubs and takeaway restaurants. One of the most picturesque beaches on the island lies less than half a mile from the front door and welcomes dogs during the winter months. For year-round beach strolls with the pooch, choose between Watcombe Bay (0.5 miles), Bembridge (21.5 miles), Luccombe Bay (20 miles), Monks Bay (18.5 miles) and many more.

A well equipped cottage with a comfortable bed. Shops and Cafe near by . Rather steep drive, big enough for one car, but able to park across the road if preferred. Cottage big enough for a couple and dog. A small private patio area to sit in when weather allows. We enjoyed our short stay and would recommend it. I wish we had been staying longer.

We had another lovely stay at The Wendy House. The location is good and off road parking a bonus. Although the property is small it has all you need for your stay. We walked along the causeway to Yarmouth and across Tennyson Down to The Old Battery both directly from the cottage. The outside seating area is a lovely place to have breakfast and the Read moresitting room area is cosy after a long walk. We have booked for next year and can't wait to return Hide

Lovely little house ample space, clean and good location, however it is on a road so we had to be careful getting dogs in and out of the car on the drive. Our first visit to the Isle of Wight didnt leave us disappointed- its stunning! Dog friendly too

This cottage is perfectly located near to the bay, not far from the village, with everything you would want nearby for a peaceful holiday. We had what we needed for our stay which we thoroughly enjoyed, though it was obviously a place where dogs had been as there were plenty of hairs around and it wasn't as clean as we would have liked.

We had a very pleasant 1 week stay in the Wendy House. It was found to be very clean and well equipped, with everything that we needed. Great location, 5 minutes walk to seafront in the bay and lovely walks along cliff top paths. Also good base for travelling to all other parts of the island. A minor issue with water leak discovered on first day, uRead morender kitchen sink, was immediately resolved by owners soon as we reported it to them. This cottage is in a quiet area with lovely outlook to the front across to the church and Down beyond. I had all the amenities I needed and had a superb stay in The Wendy House. Tried to book again for autumn but dates full to November. . I will certainly return in early Spring 2024.

We really loved the Wendy House, the area, the Bay, and the fields. Everything that's is needed was in the house. It was spotless. A lovely little space outside to sit and have a coffee. We had a lovely stay at The Wendy House. It is in a lovely location and the little garden is perfect for sitting with a drink. Freshwater Bay is only a few minutes walk away. The property is well equipped, clean and cosy. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to return again next year.

Had a nice 4 days on the island, lots of lovely weather and walking. Place we stayed not the best, not very comfortable and smelt of dogs with quite a bit of dog hair all over the place. Owners did come and change the bed thankfully on the first night because of dog hair in the bed. Did leave a night earlier than expected as just wasn't a very comfRead moreortable place to be, sofa small and chair very hard. I found the Wendy House absolutely perfect for my needs. I was there just with Pedro my cockapoo and we both found it relaxing and extremely comfortable. Everything we needed was there and although it is really very tiny it is very well equipped and a lovely place to stay. The views from the cottage are stunning and Gate lane is a marvellous place Read moreto relax and unwind. I know the area very well having been a visitor for 60 years but can honestly say that this location in Gate Lane is perfect Hide

A small cottage but very nice. Property was very clean and as we were stopping for 2 weeks we were asked by owner if we wanted new bedding after 1st week.

Great little place, very clean and well equipped. It's in an excellent location, close to the beach and footpaths to the downs. Also there's a very good cafe a couple of doors down from the property.

Had a lovely holiday at The Wendy House, although small, very well equipped and extremely clean. Great location for Freshwater Bay, Dimbola House and Piano Cafe within short walking distance. Bus stop across the road. Parking on the drive a bonus. Well-stocked and friendly grocery store on the corner. Views to St Agnes Church across the road and TeRead morennyson Down. Would stay again, preferred the crossing from Lymington to Yarmouth and cottage a short drive from the ferry. Hide

Lovely little cottage, more than adequate for my husband and me and our dog. Beautiful quiet location with lovely coastal and countryside walks on the doorstep. Wonderful scenery. Owners and locals very friendly! Would definitely stay there again.
