If you love dogs, this delightful property offers the perfect place to stay for two alongside three canine companions. The charming semi-detached cottage is situated on the unspoiled west coast of Sutherland, offering outstanding beauty as far as the eye can see. For guest looking for a unique blend of tranquil surroundings and endless adventure, this is the perfect location.

As you access the property via a set of stone steps, you can soak up your picturesque surroundings. On entering the cottage, you will be welcomed by a cosy lounge and diner with exposed beams and a traditional wood burner, a perfect oasis to retreat to once the day is done. The well-equipped kitchen provides everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal following a day of exploring the highlands. Guest can also enjoy a comfortable double bedroom and spacious bathroom. Stepping outside, guests can make the most of an enclosed garden space, which comes complete with the owner’s friendly dog as you take in the spectacular mountain and loch views.

With plenty to explore on foot, you may not want to stray too far from this tranquil location, however the remote fishing village of Kinlochbervie is 5 miles away, with coastal village of Durness sitting 16 miles from the property. The rugged coastline offers an abundance of sandy beaches, with one of the UK’s most magnificent, Sandwood Bay within reach. Ridgway Adventure, located in Ardmore offers the option to enjoy a spot of loch fishing or some water sports, as numerous mountains in the surrounding area offer plenty of walking trails. The beach of Oldshoremore is 9.5 miles away.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely place to stay..uneven driveway but just take it slow and no problems . Access to property is via decking path and some stone steps but again if you take it steady no problems.. amazing views, saw the deer nearly every day whilst eating breakfast.. everything you need is there and any issues Graham and Lyn are right there to assist..no WiFi bRead moreut our phones worked fine Hide

Thanks to Graham and Lynn for a great week. Brilliant location, good comfort, spotlessly clean. One thing to be mindful of, neither good nor bad, just factual. Access from car to cottage is about 30 metres and not great for someone dodgy on their feet as the duck-boarding can be slippery and the steps are quite uneven. A wonderful cosy, characterful cottage with exceptional views in all weathers. A perfect relaxing place to get away from everything. We brought kayaks and were able to launch from the bottom of the garden. There was always something to watch out of the window!

Very peaceful, remote and stunning views over the loch...the perfect place to unwind no phone signal but walk up to the top of the road and it usually works. The owners were very warm and welcoming and there if you needed them. Lovely secure garden for dogs shared with the owner's dog. Splendid and very cosy cottage ... with personal touch & all you things you need to enjoy the time away from it all. Spectacular scenery and great wilderness - Sutherland in a nutshell ! Great base for exploring the region - mountains & beaches galore and very friendly hosts - certainly a place to re-visit in the near future !

The Uphouse is in a fantastic position for isolation and solitude. Beautiful view over the loch. The place was warm and comfortable enough. We had a great time in an area we love.
