Watch tails wag when two happy hounds bound up to this Cumbrian holiday home, approximately 5 miles from Penrith. Sleeping four guests, as well as a pair of canine companions, the two-bedroom property near Little Blencow is also just 3 miles from the fringes of the magnificent Lake District. Step out from home with your faithful friends at your heel to explore your rural surroundings or venture into the national park for lakeside walks and hill hikes to stretch energetic, furry legs.

Let the pups wander inside to discover their new home. Hang their leads in the hall and stroll through to the kitchen/diner to replenish their water bowls. Make yourself a cup of tea to enjoy at the breakfast bar as you watch TV. Pop dog blankets in the washing machine and prepare food for everyone, including your four-legged friends, in here as well. A twin bedroom with two double beds, and a double room, both with TVs, plus a family shower room, are also at this level. Climb the stairs with your chums in tow to discover the lounge, with its high vaulted ceiling, revealed timbers and wood burner, where you and your contented canines can relax together. A king-size bedroom and family bathroom are also at this level. Take the pups out to enjoy the fresh air in the enclosed front garden and dine outside too on sunny days. Discover parking for two cars.

Take your delighted dogs out to jump in the car then drive approximately 9 miles to Pooley Bridge. From here, you can either embark upon a section of the 20-mile Ullswater Way, right around the lake, or rest less energetic paws with a trip on a dog-friendly steamer. Leap off at Aira Force to follow the route up to the famous waterfall. Please note that this property does not accept children under 18.

A great spacious property and well equipped. This is in the Northern Lakes but it is so well located no where is far . We have done a lot of Uk cottages and this is the best all round cottage we have stayed in . The Boot shoe in greystoke is less than a mile away and excellent for lunch and dinners

A beautiful well appointed property my Wife and I cant recommend it enough .. From the welcome pack on arrival to the friendliness of the Landlords , it was a very pleasant week we had at the Swallows . The beds were very comfortable, there was plenty of hot water for baths , the upstairs Lounge is fantastic with the log burner . Just returned from a fabulous stay. The house is spacious and comfortable with everything you need for a break away. A perfect base for easy access to the whole of the Lake District. The owners Sue and Terry are wonderful hosts who are happy to help without intruding. The dog chest, bottle of bubbles and snacks were a lovely surprise on arrival. Returned from a lovely week staying at The Swallows. It was really clean and a lovely cottage. The log burner was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. The owners were also lovely. Its really well equipped for dogs, the only thing we found was there was nowhere to really walk our dog other than along the road which we didntRead more like to do as some cars drove rather fast down the lane. So we just nipped into Greystoke and took our dog around there in an evening. 5 stars! Hide

Lovely barn conversion in my favourite northern part of the lakes. Everything you need and lovely spacious rooms and pleasant garden. The only thing I would say is that if you have a dog you need to get in the car to go for walks as the road as the cars go very fast even though it's a minor one.

A beautifully appointed cottage which is very spacious and airy. The owners have thought of everything one might need for an enjoyable stay away from home. Good clear instructions have been left for all appliances, and lovely patio furniture is provided should you be lucky with the weather. plenty of space for two cars to park easily. A fantastic clean and comfortable property with beautiful decor. The owners Terry and Sue are lovely, friendly and helpful hosts. Very spacious, ideal for dogs who also are well catered for. Would recommend it to everybody.

Overall fair value but not as described, and we felt let down after good first impressions. Three of the rooms were locked and unavailable - including the 'cosy double' and the 'study'. Property is on directly on a country lane, with fast moving cars, I wouldn't want to walk a dog straight from the house. Lovely cottage located about 20 minutes from Penrith/The North Lakes. All the rooms are very large and nicely presented. The decor and finishings are all to a very high standard.

Everything lovely, but though this is dog friendly, there is actually nowhere to walk your dog other than along the narrow lane along which some folk drive like maniacs. Popping along to Greystoke is your best bet, as there are several footpaths among the houses there, with adjoining small grassy areas. Also, if your dog is like mine and afraid of Read moreshotgun fire, know that the farmer has installed a bird scarer that comes online at 6.30 am and does a double bang every half hour or so. Hide

A most beautiful and comfortable cottage, well placed away from the business of the Lakes, but close enough to have easy access to all the main tourist attractions. We had a lovely holiday here and will be back.
