This lovingly restored stone cottage offers indulgent holiday accommodation for families, couples or groups of friends celebrating a special occasion. Relax with your loved ones in the heart of the Scottish countryside for a getaway to remember.

Got a lovely wee pet who adores sniffing out new territory? With a national park as its backyard, this beautiful accommodation in Stirling is just right for hiking dogs, lumbering dogs and dogs who just like a little stroll. The house itself has plenty of outdoor space to relax in and boasts gorgeous views over the surrounding countryside. You'll be just 20 miles from Glasgow and 18 from Stirling, so there'll be plenty for dogs-about-town to do too. With space for six humans and up to two dogs, this property is well-suited to family gatherings and groups of friends.

Exposed original stonework, wooden ceiling beams and polished timber floors add to this stunning cottage's character. The sitting room is a cosy place to be, especially with the wood burner which Bella and Bess can curl up next to when they're feeling weary of an evening. In the well-equipped kitchen, fry up free-range eggs from your welcome pack to be enjoyed in the light-filled dining room. From here, French doors lead out onto the decked picnic area where you can sizzle up a storm on fine evenings while Bess and Bella alternate leaping around in the private garden and bugging you for scraps. Just be aware, this garden is not enclosed.

The house is in a rural spot 4.5 miles from the nearest pub (dog-friendly, of course). In the stunning Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park (3 miles), pick from a huge range of trails for your daily adventures. For a moderate stroll through woodland and open fields, explore the three bridges of Callander (16 miles). If your pets are keen hikers, why not take them up Ben Lomond (16.5 miles) Drive to Glasgow (20 miles) for a day of shopping and culture. Spend the morning looking for souvenirs followed by lunch in one of the city's numerous dog-friendly cafés or pubs.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

It's just 7 miles up the road to Aberfoyle where there's a host of things to do – from the high rope courses at Go Ape, to a range of walking and cycling routes around Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Spot squirrels and birds from the wildlife hide, take a kayak out onto Loch Ard, and enjoy a tasty lunch at the visitor centre lodge. Older kids (and the young at heart) will love the Total Wipeout-style waterpark on the north shore of the loch, 10 miles from the house. Head to Balmaha, 8 miles away, for some beautiful loch-side walks on the West Highland Way which extends 20 miles along the loch edge to Inverarnan before winding inland right up to Fort William. Loch Lomond Aquarium sits at the bottom of the loch, around 13 miles from the cottage, and always makes for a nice day out, especially for younger children. Stirling, 18 miles away, offers a spot of retail therapy, as well as being a rainy day option when a trip to the cinema, or ice rink is in order. There's also a good art gallery and museum in the town centre. And if you're craving a taste of city life, then historic Glasgow is just 20 miles away.

Lovely property, well equipped. Good location. Lots of space, was a bit big for just two of us but would like to return again with the rest of the family.

Beautiful cottage in a delightful setting. Ideal for accessing the local area, Trossachs and Loch Lomond. Very comfortable with plenty of room, we were a party of 6 adults and a dog. We had a most enjoyable week away.

Absolutely lovely - a warm welcome from the owner, spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. We have stayed in countless self-catering cottages, and this one ranks as one of the best - excellent value for money and highly recommended.
