The fascinating Holy Island really is worth a visit during your stay. Famed for its medieval religious heritage, the evocative ruins of the 12th-century priory are quite spectacular. This property is close to a 16th-century castle, extraordinary array of rare wildlife and tidal causeway, makes it a truly unique and special place. If you fancy stretching the legs and paws, park at Fenwick (6 miles away) and follow the final stretch of St Cuthbert’s Way, which comes to an end on the island. The route has a wealth of historic and cultural interest and passes by a number of fascinating World War II coastal defences.
