A complex of cottages that sit at the end of a private drive, located on the edge of the charming village of Kilkhampton, this is the ideal spot from which you can explore all North Cornwall and Devon.
This charming cottage, located at the edge of the pretty village of Kilkhampton, close to the Devon/Cornwall border, is a perfect retreat for two – plus your canine friend, of course! Sleeping you both up a steep staircase in a cosy double bed on the mezzanine level, you’ll feel refreshed and ready to enjoy a day of frolicking around with your pup. Head down the road to Sandymouth Bay (3.5 miles) that starts with stunning clifftop views and has no dog restrictions all year before returning to the village and enjoying a tipple in the pub less than 0.5 miles from your door.
The property, which is one in a complex of properties situated at the end of a private drive, has a unique blend of the traditional and the contemporary. The kitchen/diner has a farmhouse-style with lots of woods, while the lounge area that’s up a couple of steps has plush carpets and sumptuous seating to sink into in front of the wood burner-style electric fire, your four-legged friend curled up by your feet. Snuggle into bed up the narrow stairs at bedtime and wake up surrounded by fresh, peaceful decor before heading to the garden with your morning coffee. Sizzle up a BBQ during the summer and wander the pretty, shared grounds.
Make sure you go into Bude (5.5 miles) during your stay and visit its many independent shops and cafes. The tidal pool is a popular attraction, and dogs are welcome on Crooklets Beach between October and Easter Sunday. Efford Down Park (6 miles) is also close by and you’ll find the only colony of the plant Edward thistly in Cornwall there. Wander back in time through the picturesque village of Clovelly (12 miles), walk the steep streets and take in some fantastic sea views from the South West Coastal Path.
