On a working farm, this bijou cottage – one of two - with its charming interior design and fully enclosed private courtyard is so inviting. With a perfect outdoor space for your tail-wagger to chill and total comfort inside you can’t lose. From the farm gate, your hound can take the lead into the countryside to sniff out the best local walks. They’ll also have the run of a beautiful one-acre wild garden.

Discover the warm, cosy lounge and dining area with a soft sofa and huge footstool crying out relaxation. Bring a favourite blanket for your dog to curl up on while you watch a movie or read a book. There are two steps up into the fitted kitchen, perfect for creating romantic meals for three and the utility room is great for washing muddy paws. The gorgeous bedroom has a super king-size zip-and-link bed (twin on request) with an en-suite shower. From the kitchen are steps out to the courtyard, which has a private hot tub to relax tired muscles after each exhilarating dog walk.

Northam Burrows Country Park, 15 miles away, is a site of scientific interest, a favourite for kite flying, bird watching and dog walking. Peppercombe Beach is 21 miles away and great for exploring all year round. If shopping is your thing, try South Molton, 10 miles away, with its country market (Thursdays and Saturdays). A dog sitting service is provided by the cottage owner upon request (charges apply). There is bicycle storage and off-road parking for one car.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had the most amazing stay at The Sheep Pen. Everything you could possibly think of that you would need, they provide. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A delightful characterful cottage. Ian and Annie very welcoming. The precautions taken because of covid 19 were very good and we felt safe. Perfect break from the city. The cottage was spotlessly clean, so comfortable and beautifully decorated. The owners were lovely and left the sweetest little personalised gifts for us! The Sheep Pen is a beautiful cottage, fabulously decorated and well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The biscuits, chocolates, dog treats and flowers made for a lovely arrival. The cottage was perfect set in a quite and rural location. Shops, if required weren't to far a drive away. The sheep pen is a stunning little cottage, in a remote but beautiful area of north Devon. It provided everything we needed for a relaxing break. The welcome baskets including a dog towel and treats and fresh local produce was a lovely touch.

What a charming little gem that is better in real life than on any photo. We were so comfortable, I didn't want to go home. The hot tub is a real treat, and we made use of the BBQ too. Every attraction, beach, coastal town and even Exeter are all within an hours drive of the cottage. Travelling along the coast from Combe Martin to Lynton & LynmouthRead more is a must. The cottage was so well equipped and really felt like a home from home. Really secure garden for our dog and plenty of outdoor space for us to give him a good run before heading out for the day. We were made to feel so welcome and honestly cannot fault a single thing. We will definitely return!

Lovely isolated, peaceful cottage miles from civilization. Great getaway to clear our heads and have a relaxing break. Hot tub works easily and very high standard of cottage decoration and fitted with modern bathroom and kitchen.

The sheep pen was very comfortable and warm , decorated beautifully and easy to find on the sat nav. Owners added a few complimentary treats which was lovely and our dog felt right at home .

We didnt want to come home! It was exactly what we wanted. We took our reactive dog and she was perfect. The garen was enclosed so she could go out (not that she wanted to go out in the rain - just incase she melted!) we didnt have to worry. The sheep pen was absolutely lovely so relaxing and quite. Myself partner and dog enjoyed our week my dog even had a romance with the neighbours farm dog. Shops and beaches are not to far away and the hot tub was an added extra on the evening after long walks along the beautiful beaches
