Stay at this cosy barn conversion in Somerset for a romantic break that doesn’t leave the dogs out. It’s in Williton, a friendly village located between Exmoor National Park and the pretty Quantock Hills – fantastic for lovers of the great outdoors. Head out for beautiful, long walks through the countryside followed by pub dinners and cosy nights in with your loved one and pets. If you’re holidaying with friends, consider renting out the adjacent property which also welcomes two humans and two dogs.

This accommodation has a cosy feel, with attractive features such as wood beams and a vaulted ceiling to add to the atmosphere. Thanks to French doors at one end and a window in the roof, it feels spacious and airy. There’s an open-plan layout with the kitchen, lounge and dining areas all in one space and the bedroom behind a curtain at one end. Outside, you’ll have your own private terrace as well as access to a shared landscaped garden where the dogs can let off some steam.

The house sits within 25 acres of land that includes a river – perfect for taking Buster for long walks before breakfast. In Williton, enjoy a pint in a dog-friendly pub or pick up a stream train to Minehead, a seaside resort 10 miles away. Bridgwater (16.5 miles) is a historic market town with shops to explore and a pretty canal you can wander down. For more stick-throwing terrain, head to the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty 23 miles away.

Lovely setting. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay with thoughtful touches like magnetic torch on the wall. We found this invaluable walking home at night. Everything was spotless and hosts very welcoming.

Lovely cottage. Well furnished, clean and comfortable. Location on the owners property was perfect for our 2 dogs. The hosts were great, helpful with lots of advice of places to visit. We absolutely loved our stay & would recommend.

A lovely well equipped studio. Fabulous view to bottom of the garden . Owners very welcoming on site to answers any questions you may have. An added bonus to have the steam trains right behind the property.

Excellent property, finished to a very high standard. Ideal for a dog holiday as surrounded by enclosed fields . Situated behind Williton station on the West Somerset Railway the occasional steam train adds to the rural feel. Local pubs serving food within a few minutes drive (or a 15 minute walk). Beaches are a short drive away. Local shops in WilRead moreliton have everything visitors may need. Owners are on site and welcoming and can provide local knowledge. Highly recommended ! Hide

I really enjoyed my week based in Williton at The Quantock Room. The location is perfect for exploring Somerset and Edward and Louise could not be more accommodating hosts. Visitors are welcome to use the extensive grounds to exercise dogs and most locations that I visited while in Somerset were very dog friendly. Valley of the Rocks is a must for Read moreyour holiday agenda. The weather may not have been the best at times but the welcome was warm everywhere. I will certainly revisit the Quantock Room. Hide

Very friendly and helpful owners who went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The enclosed garden and access to walking with our dogs was ideal. The converted barn was well equipped and ideally located for access to exmoor, beaches and local walks.

The cottage was absolutely spotless, well equipped and the location is amazing. We spent 3 days with our 2 dogs exploring the local area, including the owners land which is just beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Despite being one of the wettest holidays we have experienced the cottage was cosy and welcoming to return to each day. Perfect holiday with our two Labradors. We were made very welcome. I would recommend the area, there are so many amazing places to visit and walk. We definitely will return.

We had a perfect weeks holiday. The cottage was spotless and perfectly situated ,with a lovely view of the garden and surrounding area from the front patio doors. Very comfortable. Patio fencing was perfect for keeping in my escape artist dog. River on border of property is great for cleaning of your dog (and yourself) from walks on the local beach. Quiet and rural but local village will meet all your shopping requirements.

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location, right by the station for the steam railway. The owners are very helpful. The only things guests need to bear in mind are: a) The patios for both guest cottages are right next to each other, with only a low-level fence between, so if you're both outside, you will not really feel much privacy. b) DogsRead more are accepted, so if one or both cottages has a dog in it you need to be prepared for the pleasures and challenges that this may bring!
