This superb property, located in the peaceful village of Stawell, is an ideal place for the family to enjoy some countryside tranquillity. Sleeping four across two bedrooms, plus space for two furry family members, it won’t be long until you’re feeling refreshed and ready to discover all the wonders that are just outside the door. Only 11 miles from historic Glastonbury, you and your family can enjoy the National Trust’s Tor, the Abbey as well as plenty of shops and cafes that welcome four-pawed pals. Once you’re back home, sink into the sofas and relax in front of the wood burner, your canine by your feet.

This single-level barn conversion is bright and welcoming with pretty original features, including exposed wooden beams and vaulted ceilings. The open-plan living area makes for a sociable and happy space to come back to after a long day sightseeing, and warm homely touches make it a calming place to wind down in the evening. There’s no need to eat out since the kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm, plus you can eat alfresco in the enclosed courtyard while the dogs stretch their legs.

This property is an ideal base for touring Somerset. Make sure you visit the historic city of Wells (16 miles), where its cathedral is known as the ‘most poetic of the English cathedrals’, and sample some Somerset cider and cheddar cheese at the many independent restaurants. Explore the rugged beauty of Cheddar Gorge (20 miles) and Wookey Hole (17 miles), or head to the coast to Burnham-on-Sea beach (12 miles) where your hounds are welcome on parts of the beach all year.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Wonderful hidden away gem if ur looking for peace and quite this is a great place to be Extra bonus that u can take your pet Owners was very warming and welcoming making a cake and wine was a lovely touch couldnt have asked for more for a family retreat away

Really enjoyed our stay there with family and dog and good walks there for the dog in the village of Stawell. The owners Penny and Ian came round on first night to make sure everything was ok which was a nice touch and tell us about local area. They left cakes in the fridge which was very welcome. The cottage is very well placed for days out at StrRead moreeet Clarks Village, Glastonbury,The Smallest City of Wells and close to the beach at Burnham On Sea. All within a few miles. We loved our time at the cottage. The owners make you feel very welcome and are very helpful without being too intrusive. Ideal with a dog as there is an enclosed court yard. The hot tub was great and the cottage had everything we needed at a great price. Location is good we would have just like a pub in closer walking distance. Very beautiful and well equipped cottage welcomed with a bottle of wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay so as our labaldor . Village is pretty and quiet. We met some friendly people and had lovely country walks with the dog. Plenty to do around the local area. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cosy, spotlessly clean and well-equipped cottage. Great central location to explore the Somerset coastline and also places like Cheddar Gorge and Clarks Village. Very friendly and helpful owners.

The old stables had everything we needed. Located in a quiet village. Ideal location for holiday exploring. Owners made us feel very welcome and were not intrusive. Wine and cakes delicious. Came away feeling very relaxed and rested.

Pleasant stay in peaceful surroundings. Secure sunny courtyard, ideal if you have a dog. Enjoyed the welcome gift of wine and cakes. Local pub and restaurant only 15 minute walk away but up a very steep narrow road.

The Old Stables is in a quiet hamlet surrounded by farmland. Its a very cosy cottage with lots of homely touches such as cushions, blankets & rugs. The kitchen is well laid out & we enjoyed cooking & eating there. The nearest pub is on the main road which was a 20 minute stroll uphill & a 13 minute walk back but we preferred the longer 2 & a half mRead moreile walk to the ring o bells at Moorlinch. Very peaceful & quiet. The owners live next to the cottage & they were very welcoming. Great! Hide
