A 17th-century former potter's studio, this coastal retreat is just the right size for a solo getaway or romantic escape for couples, offering privacy, cosiness galore and excellent location.

This cosy cottage in the picturesque Dorset village of Burton Bradstock is the ideal destination for couples and their canine companions wishing to explore the stunning coastline and countryside within easy reach. Take the lead along the South West Coast Path, only steps from the front door, to the popular resort of Bridport (3 miles). Dog-friendly Hive Beach with its welcoming cafe is less than 500 metres from the cottage for ball games and doggy paddles.

Located partway down a quiet no-through road, cross the shared courtyard garden at the front of the property to reach your traditional stone cottage. The open-plan interior is bright and airy, decorated in neutral tones with bright splashes of colour. Cook up delicious dinners for two in the compact kitchen area and dine at the centrally positioned table. After supper, curl up in the comfortable armchairs with a glass of wine and your furry friend at your feet. Heading upstairs, you will find a tranquil double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Remember to bring your pet’s favourite bedding so they can rest their paws too. Stepping outside to the shared courtyard garden, there’s a seating area to sip your morning coffee.

Step out of the front door for long walks along the cliff-tops and coast path. Amble to Cogden Beach (1 mile) for a walk along the secluded sands in this beautiful rural setting. Take to the water on a canoe trip from West Bay (2 miles) where your dog can join you as you paddle along the Jurassic Coastline. Head to the Symondsbury Estate (4.5 miles) and sniff out your favourite trail through the fabulous gardens before enjoying a treat in the dog-friendly cafe. Be rewarded with spectacular views from Eggardon Hill (7 miles) as you discover the remains of the Iron Age hillfort at its summit.

Our second winter holiday in this lovely, comfy little cottage. A great base for walking, both directly from the cottage and within a short car ride. The weather wasn't kind so we really appreciated being able to stroll out to the cliff and beach when the rain stopped. Great food, both at the Three Horseshoes, in the village, and at S & E Fish and Read moreChips in West Bay. I'd recommend the Youtube channel Daves Countryside Walks for showing a number of lovely walks in the area. Hide

Great communication from the owners. We arrived with temperatures at around freezing for our 3 night January break (couple & 1 medium sized dog) and found the cottage beautifully warm - which is how it stayed for our whole stay. It is a small but very cosy cottage with everything that we needed for our stay. Useful having parking adjacent to properRead morety too. Easy access to the coast path and numerous good places to eat in the village and also the local area. We wouldnt hesitate to return here. Hide

Lovely little cottage in a great location. Worked well for me and my greyhound. So unfortunate I had to leave a day or two early through illness. I'd recommend to friends.

Good village location, close to beach & shop, great dog walks. Cleanliness could be improved & a few repairs. Hosts were friendly & helpful & were only next door.

For a relaxing country holiday in a picturesque cottage in an idyllic setting, this one is hard to beat. The cottage is small but well-equipped, located at a corner of the road at the edge of the village. The bed was very comfortable and the heating worked well.

What a charming little cottage. It is tiny but very comfortable, cosy and well-equipped. Fine for the two of us plus a medium-sized dog. The situation is fabulous. On the edge of the village, near to the shop, garage and Three Horseshoes (where we had two lovely meals) but very quiet inside and next to open fields for the dog. The cottage is perfectly located for beach and walks, with good local bus service and excellent pubs for eating in the village. The cottage is small and a little bit cramped, but very warm and comfortable.. The garden is tiny, no more than a couple of chairs outside the front door really. Fantastic location as beach is just over the hill along with coastal walks on your doorstep. Also a good base to visit other coastal towns. Village is lovely with a fantastic pub called The Three Horseshoes, food is amazing, make sure you visit. Cottage is very basic and could do with some updating, nice to have a parking space though!

A cosy cottage with lots of character, having a good sized and well presented bedroom and bathroom ideally suited for 2 + small dog. There was sufficient utensils and pans in the kitchen area to prepare our meals. The lounge/dining area was compact but comfortable.
