This contemporary property oozes style and provides the perfect base for a memorable family holiday exploring the Peak District.

Sitting on the edge of the Peak District National Park, spend your days exploring the Pennine Way, chasing sticks and tucking into hearty pub lunches. A great home for families, friends and a pair of four-pawed sidekicks, this former Post Office has a sociable open-plan living space and a wood burner to keep you toasty. Arrive to a thoughtful welcome pack filled with goodies for all guests.

A mix of minimal, contemporary and industrial style flows throughout this bolthole, creating a welcoming environment in which to relax. After days in the great outdoors, fire up the wood burner, crack open the treat jar to keep pups content and settle on one of two inviting sofas in the lounge area. Rustle up meals in the delightful kitchen and warm your toes on the underfloor heating. When you’re ready for bed, climb the concrete staircase to drift off in style in one of three tranquil bedrooms with beautiful wooden flooring. Perfect for families, there is a triple bunk bed room where little ones can snooze in the single over double. Start your day with a relaxing soak in the free-standing, roll-top bath before gearing up for a day outdoors. Find secure bike storage in the outhouse.

Treat your wag-tailed family members to exciting walks and follow a section of the 268-mile-long Pennine Way. The trail runs close to Holme and there are great circular walks taking you to the summit of Black Hill where far-reaching views reward your climb. On your return, visit the local pub which welcomes those with paws so you can enjoy a night off from the kitchen and leave no one behind. Just 3 miles away, the bustling town of Holmfirth has a selection of markets which are worth a visit.

Lovely location and comfortable house. Lack of a garden or any outside space might be a problem for some though the proximity to fields meant we were fine.

We had a lovely stay in the old post office. The cottage was very well kitted out and comfortable. The location was lovely with a beautiful setting and lots of walks straight from the cottage with a pub 2 minutes away. It was also very close to Holmfirth with all the restaurants and shops. Thanks!

This is a really lovely cottage in a brilliant location, close to Holmfirth with lots of options for dining and shopping, and great walks from the doorstep. No outdoor space, but theres a kids playground just opposite the cottage which would be good for younger children.
