This stunning property, set on the Cartmel Peninsula that stretches as far as Morecambe Bay, is a perfect holiday home for the whole family, including the waggy-tailed guests! Sleeping six across three tranquil bedrooms and with space for up to two dogs, this wonderful holiday home is ideally placed for relaxing and staying close by thanks to the dog-friendly pub less than 500 metres’ walk away. There’s also plenty to do in the area including Fell Foot Park (7 miles) where the meadow and parkland are perfect for walkies.
The cottage, which offers views over the pretty village green, is bright and airy. Head upstairs through the ornate hall that still retains lots of pretty original features. Huge windows in the lounge make it a light and cheerful space in the day, but draw the curtains in the evening and it becomes a cosy haven for you to relax in in front of the wood burner, the pups curled up by your feet. The kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm, while the dining area is flooded with light with views out to the garden. At bedtime, slip between the sheets among soft, neutral decor for a peaceful night’s sleep.
Your proximity to the Lake District gives you so much to do from this property. Coniston Water (19 miles) is a beautiful place to enjoy a picnic and explore, and you can take a Victorian steam yacht gondola across the lake in the spring and summer. Take a self-guided walk around Kendal through Curious About Kendal that starts at Holy Trinity Church (15 miles) and discover lots of shops, cafes and pubs along the way. Outside the National Park, Fell End Nature Reserve (16 miles) offers walks through superb scenery with the opportunity to see lots of local wildlife.
