This recently refurbished barn conversion offers stylish and contemporary accommodation with original features throughout. Located within walking distance of the local shop, post office and pub.

This striking red-brick property is a beautiful place for a break with family or friends, in a semi-rural setting on the outskirts of the village of Brailsford, 5 miles from Ashbourne. Located in a quiet lane, it’s a convenient base to explore town and country. You can potter to the village shop or dog-friendly Rose and Crown pub, or head into the wilds with your hound via the Tissington Trail, a 13-mile bridle path, cycleway and footpath that offers some of the region’s prettiest views.

The property is a sympathetically-created Grade II-listed barn conversion, bearing the hallmarks of its former use, including exposed beams, timber floors and vaulted ceilings. Access is through a spacious hallway, where you’ll find a utility room (an ideal space for dog bowls and baskets). The open-plan living area, accessed via a short flight of steps from ground level, offers plenty of space to spread out and relax, prepare meals, dine, and lounge on the comfy sofas with a good book and your canine pal. The two bedrooms, a double and a twin, overlook the front and rear of the property and are furnished simply and elegantly, with natural materials and gorgeous timber floors throughout. There’s an enclosed courtyard to keep pets safe when you’re basking in the sunshine or firing up the BBQ, and you can let pets roam freely in the enclosed driveway and gardens to the front of the property.

You’re spoilt for choice in terms of local attractions, with the country house of Kedleston Hall just 4 miles east of the property, where you can explore the parkland and pleasure grounds with your dog. You can also explore picturesque Dovedale, a National Nature Reserve, 13 miles north, within the national park.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We really enjoyed our week at Old Hall Farmhouse Barn. We found the barn comfortable and relaxing and it is in a perfect location . We enjoyed visiting Dovedale, Ilam , Hartington, Matlock and Buxton. The barn also had lots of places that were ideal for dog walking and the utility room is good for storing shoes and has a washing machine and dryer. Very comfortable cottage, with all we needed on our short break. We - and the dog - were made very welcome. Quiet location off busy road. Not much to see in the village itself although surrounded by beautiful countryside and within short drive of the Peak District National Park.
