This stylish bolthole is a welcoming haven to return to after long walks through the scenic countryside that surrounds the popular Lakeland village of Grasmere.
This chic holiday home is located right in the centre of the Lake District National Park, providing easy access to some of the region’s top attractions, such as Windermere (14 miles), Coniston Water (12 miles) and Keswick (12.5 miles). Grasmere itself boasts an array of superb dog walks, around the lake and through the fells. Sleeping four guests and one canine chum, the cottage makes an ideal couples’ retreat or base for a small family. After a long walk with the pup, return to your cosy hideaway to snuggle in front of the wood burner or enjoy a glass of wine in the shared courtyard.
The cottage exudes elegance and is full of chic furniture and tasteful accessories. Exposed woodwork adds warmth to each area and perfectly complements the industrial-style theme that runs throughout the property. With its open-plan layout, the cottage is ideal for entertaining. Dine together at the magnificent oak dining table, before sharing a bottle of wine in the cosy lounge area. Play board games together or watch TV, whilst Fido stretches out in front of the wood burner. Upstairs, you’ll find the two beautiful bedrooms: a king-size and a super-king-size. The outdoor area is shared and has a patio where you can dine alfresco during summer months.
Wander into the centre of Grasmere to explore this quaint, picturesque town. Peruse the quirky independent shops (many of which welcome four-pawed visitors) and be sure to pick up one of the town’s iconic gingerbreads. Take it in turns to pop your heads into Dove Cottage, the former home of William Wordsworth, before heading down to the lake for a peaceful walk or a spot of wild swimming. Alternatively, pull on your walking boots and hike to the top of Loughrigg Fell for stunning views across the National Park.
