Charming Grade-II listed cottage at the eastern edge of the Cotswolds. Impressive unique features like an airy sun lounge and spacious rooms throughout.

We’re thrilled to be including this property within our Joules Collection; look out for stylish touches throughout the property, hand-picked by Joules and part of their latest range of quintessentially British, bold and colourful homewares

This stunning cottage, situated on the eastern edge of the Cotswolds, is perfect for your entire family – including the four-legged member! Sleeping six across three cosy bedrooms and with plenty of space for the pup to snuggle up, you could all soon be exploring some of the wonderful sights in the area. Enjoy a day out in the city of Oxford (22 miles), or stroll the gardens in the moated and fortified manor house Broughton Castle (7 miles). Or if you fancy a day at home, relax in the sunroom with a good book and your feet up.

The property, which is a Grade II listed building, is bright and airy. The open-plan kitchen/diner is in a beautiful country cottage style with a wood burner in front of the dining table to warm you up during breakfast. Relax in the lounge in front of the beautiful stone fireplace, sunk into the sofas with the canine at your feet. Upstairs, the bedrooms lend an understated boutique feel to your stay; wake up and head to the stone wall-lined enclosed garden with the dog and enjoy the morning sun. In the summer, sizzle up a BBQ out here for an al fresco meal.

The cottage is in an ideal position for exploring some fantastic places. Shakespeare’s birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon is just 25 miles away, while shopping outlet Bicester Village is only 18.5 miles away. Nearby Chipping Norton (5.5 miles) is the highest town in Oxfordshire and the whole family can sniff out some clues on the Mystery Treasure Trail. Stroll the 2000 acres of parkland at Blenheim Palace (12 miles), where there is a giant hedge maze and even a miniature train to ride.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £300 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

The garden was really lovely and inspiring; so much so that we went straight down to the garden centre on our return home! The villagers we met were also very friendly and helpful. The property was lovely and clean on arrival; it felt like coming into a new property

Fantastic location and the welcome package was very much appreciated. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. If your looking for an idyllic country retreat then the Old Cottage should be top of your list.

This is a really lovely cottage with fab conservatory at the back overlooking the pretty garden. There are some stunning walks near the cottage which were great to exercise the dog. The cottage is well situated to drive to the many attractions the Cotswolds has to offer and the file provided gave us some good ideas. A really enjoyable week.
