  • Delightful traditional Scottish manse overlooking the River Ewe
  • Perfect Highland retreat for family and friends to get-away from it all
  • Private secluded enclosed garden surrounded by woodland and rolling hills with ample country walks on your doorstep
Property code: CA353

This large detached holiday house is set among beautiful mature gardens close to the pretty village of Poolewe, making a fine rural retreat with uninterrupted views of the countryside and the river below.

This delightful Georgian property enjoys a fantastic setting on the banks of the River Ewe, where you might see salmon jumping in the pools below and deer on the hills behind in colder months. From here, the island-studded west coast of Scotland is just waiting to be explored by you and your pack, but this property also puts you within easy reach of walks through glorious mountain landscapes and inland lochs, ensuring outdoor adventures for guests of all ages and abilities as well as those with four legs

This beautiful Scottish manse sits in a traditional Highland garden, surrounded by trees on three sides, with the fourth opening out to the beautiful River Ewe. Although the river itself is fenced off, the garden makes a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy the Scottish air, particularly at the end of a long day spent exploring Wester Ross. On cooler days an open fire makes the sitting room a welcoming retreat and four-pawed friends will gladly flop here, while the large kitchen/diner – which extends the full depth of the house – is the perfect place for everyone to come together. The property sleeps eight guests and one canine companion across five bedrooms, with one twin bedrooms and two single bedroos located on the ground floor, and the remaining two bedrooms – one king size and one twin – found upstairs.

Set back from the road, close to the charming coastal village of Poolewe, you are just 0.5 miles from the local shop, cafes and village market, and 1.5 miles from picturesque Inverewe Garden, overlooking the bay. Poolewe is the start of some great walks into the surrounding countryside, taking you inland past Loch Kernsary to beautiful Loch Maree. Elevated escapades also await intrepid adventurers, with the peaks of Slioch (981m), An Teallach (1062m) and Sgurr Mor (1,109m) all within a 25-mile radius as the crow flies.

  • 5 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 2 single, 2 twins

Lovely house with an interesting history. Comfortable and cosy with plenty of space for an extended family. Excellent response from the caretaker if needed. Weve booked the Manse twice now and hoping to return again in the Autumn..

We had a fabulous week staying at The Manse. The kitchen had everything we would need and the bathrooms were lovely. The amount of space for a big group is perfect and the views and walks were stunning. We would definitely book again - The Taylors

Very comfortable house with great layout and very well equipped. Plenty space for drying gear and worked really well with two kids (aged 2 and 5). We frequently holiday in the area and will definitely be rebooking The Manse.
