Escape to the Cumbrian countryside and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Northern Fells, choosing this delightful couples retreat as the exclusive base for your adventures.
Stay at this rustic, romantic bolthole close to scenic woodland strolls and challenging climbs up fells. The pretty property used to be a hayloft of a former pub and sleeps two guests and two canine companions.
The property is bright and colourful, with everything you need for your getaway. An open-plan living space has a practical kitchen, a useful dining table for two guests and a comfortable lounge area with sofa, TV and MP3 docking station. Rest your weary feet and paws while listening to some music or watching your favourite film. Upstairs is the king-size bedroom with its vaulted ceiling and exposed stone wall, adding some traditional character to the space. Open up the double doors onto your balcony which has sweeping views towards Blencathra and other fells. The dogs will enjoy sunbathing here as you get ready for the day ahead.
Find a new leash of life in the scenic woodlands of Greystoke Forest (3 miles), just on the edge of the Lake District. Challenge yourselves with a climb up Blencathra (10.5 miles) or Skiddaw (18 miles). Both offer superb views which make the climb worthwhile. Stroll the shores of Ullswater (12.5 miles) or hop on the Ullswater Steamers boat service, which travels the length of the lake offering hop-on and hop-off points across the way. Dogs are more than welcome onboard, too. Browse the charming market town of Penrith (11 miles) which has plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and dog-friendly pubs. Alternatively, pay the historic city of Carlisle (14.5 miles) a visit and soak up the culture of one of England’s most northern cities.
