The Great Hay Barn

Spectacularly situated with views of the Black Mountains, this barn is superbly suited to those, both two and four-legged, with a passion for exploring the great outdoors. Post-adventure, there really is no better feeling than putting your feet, or paws, up by the wood burner. Devour a tasty morsel and then challenge fellow guests to a game of table tennis or slope off to bed in one of the many elegant rooms.

Space is easily come by in this fabulous barn. The downstairs is open-plan with areas for cooking, dining, relaxing and even playing the piano! With room for all hands on deck, rustle up a feast with ease and then savour every mouthful at the refectory-style dining table as hungry noses sniff the air. In warmer months, enjoy a tasty BBQ and eat alfresco under the stars. Unwind in front of the wood burner or grab a book and head up to the mezzanine where comfort awaits in the shape of cosy armchairs and a beanbag. Canine chums can sniff the fresh air and chase their tails in the grounds before you all head to bed in rooms designed with handfuls of countryside charm.

The surrounding countryside offers an abundance of great walks including a stroll along the River Wye, 1 mile from home, and a stick chase into Hay-on-Wye, 1.5 miles away. Hay-on-Wye is a picturesque market town with over 30 bookshops and many a spot for a bite to eat and a tasty titbit. Make the 23-mile journey into the centre of the Brecon Beacons National Park for a frolic in the wonderful natural environment.

• 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
• There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £500 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £55. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.
