In Suffolk’s peaceful countryside sits this delightfully charming property full of character and cosy corners. Grab family, friends and canine companions and escape here for days spent exploring and nights spent dreaming under the stars on the patio. Vaulted ceilings and exposed beams create a calming holiday ambience for all to enjoy.

Downstairs, the open-plan kitchen/diner area is flooded with natural light from the French doors. Cook up a feast in the bright kitchen before savouring each mouthful at the elegant dining table which boasts glorious views across the patio and beyond. Sleek contemporary design meets exposed timber and traditional quirks, meaning this bolthole has a homely yet refreshing feel. The ground-floor twin room has patio views and French doors leading outside so you can sneak out to enjoy the sunrise with a cup of warming tea. Freshen up and prepare for the day in the en-suite shower room. Head up to the first floor to find the master king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and the fabulous lounge. The lounge is a dynamic space with a steep vaulted ceiling lined with exposed beams, large windows and comfortable corner sofa. Due to the nature of the property, all first-floor rooms have sloping ceilings and therefore slightly restricted headroom.

Explore the beauty of Wyken Gardens and Vineyards which are just 7 miles from your door and welcome both two- and four-legged family members. For a stretch of your legs closer to home, observe the majestic Thelnetham Windmill, 1 mile away, or travel slightly further afield and pay Pakenham Watermill a visit where you can quench your thirst at the delicious tearoom, 9 miles away.

I was a apprehensive about this holiday as my mom sadly broke her foot the week before we were due to go. I was so relieved when we got there as the property was so spacious the ground floor space was totally wheelchair accessible. We were lucky, the weather was lovely, we sat outside which was so peaceful, all we could hear was the birds. Our two Read moredogs had a great time. It has a cosy, homely atmosphere, with a very stylish interior and a luxury feel. The hosts were so wonderful. Five stars. Hide

Our holiday was restricted by the petrol delivery problems in September 2021 which meant we spent a lot more time at The Granary Barn than planned. This was no problem at all as it turned out as The Granary Bard provided such a comfortable stay that we had a delightful holiday.

Beautiful converted barn in lovely countryside - photos do not do it justice. Very private, with great enclosed garden and lots of wildlife in the adjacent meadow - deer, pheasants, rabbits etc. Excellent base for exploring both Norfolk and Suffolk. Owners were also very welcoming and helpful, Id highly recommend this property.
