Nestling close to the picturesque village of Bamburgh, this superb farmhouse style barn conversion makes a fantastic holiday base for families or friends enjoying the fabulous Northumberland coast.

Escape to this bolthole with your tufty-pawed canine companion in tow and make it a holiday to remember. Frolic on the beach, splash in the sea and discover fascinating local history close to home before returning back to the delightful barn conversion for an evening spent cuddling up by the wood burner.

Step inside and find yourself in the pleasant, spacious lounge where tails are kept toasty by the warming wood burner and a bookcase offers an abundance of games, books and films for two-legged guests to enjoy. Climb down one step where the vibrant open-plan kitchen/diner invites you to showcase your culinary skills before dining in style at the table where there is room for eight. To savour a more relaxed bite to eat, simply seat yourself at the breakfast bar and wash a yummy snack down with a cup of coffee. When legs need stretching and noses want to sniff out new exciting scents, head outdoors to the large lawn area and make the most of the space. Resting heads is a tranquil task as all bedrooms are lovely and light (although mind the low beams) and a mix of en-suites and family bathrooms make freshening up a simple task.

Munch tasty fish and chips after a stroll around the harbour at Seahouses, 5 miles away, where all members of the family can hop on a boat to the Farne Islands in search of beautiful wildlife. A 7-mile trip from home, sand, sea and sticks for chasing can be found at Beadnell Bay which welcomes those with tails all year round.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Wonderfully light and spacious accommodation, ideal for our large group and perfectly located for either country walks or coastal views and a relaxing break away from it all. The Granary made a superb base to explore in the local area and the ever changing scenery was amazing.

Lovely cottage, the best equipped we have ever stayed in. Secure garden ideal for children and dogs. Great property for a large family though a bit too far from the centre of Bamburgh for very young children to walk. Recommend The Potted Lobster for a meal out.

The Granary is a fabulous light and spacious house with a large garden and very well appointed. It is in a hamlet set in farmland in sight of Bamburgh Castle. It welcomes dogs and I would highly recommend it.

This is top notch self catering accommodation. There were only four of us so it felt positively palatial. We were blessed with the weather so made full use of the garden. Furnishings and equipment superb. Only thing I needed but couldnt find was a garlic press but I was probably looking in the wrong places! 17 donkeys next door were a bonus. We werRead moree warned against walking through the field to Bamburgh because of the cows so it wasnt really a doable walk for us which was disappointing Hide

Our second stay at the property - it has new windows and been redecorated in the meantime and is looking very smart. Very convenient for exploring the area and a quiet location for a week's stay.
