Escape day to day life, enjoy an abundance of walks or relax in front of the wood burner in this open-plan property, ideally located with plenty to explore along the coast and across the countryside or stay here and enjoy walks through the owner's 25 acres of land.
Looking for a romantic rural retreat for you, your partner and your pets? This cosy cottage is in Williton, a large Somerset village nestled between the Quantock Hills and Exmoor National Park, great for outdoor enthusiasts. Set in 25 acres of land with its own river, it’s a true holiday haven where you can all relax together enjoying the best Mother Nature has to offer. Take long, satisfying walks through stunning countryside by day, followed by pub dinners, cosy evenings in with your loved one and the dogs. The house, which sleeps two, welcomes up to two canine companions.
This cosy barn conversion has an airy feel thanks to the French doors at one end and a window in the roof, followed by an open-plan layout. There’s a kitchen section for preparing food and a dining area where you can relax together with a meal and a bottle of wine. The bed is in a curtained-off area, and there’s a lounge section with a cosy wood burner for keeping you all warm on chillier evenings – plus Smart TV to keep you entertained. Outside there’s a private terrace where you can sip coffee with the newspaper on slower mornings while the dogs doze off in the shade.
Head to Williton station and take the pets on a steam train on the West Somerset Railway. Ride to Minehead (10 miles), a pretty seaside town with plenty of shops and cafés to explore. Taunton (16.5 miles), Somerset’s lively county town, is well worth a visit. To take Fido for a run at the local dog friendly beach, which is a twenty minute walk away using the public footpath or plentiful country walks through ancient woodlands, head to the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty 23 miles away. If you’re holidaying with another couple, you may want to hire out the neighbouring property too, which also welcomes two dogs.
