This delightful cottage has an authentic countryside feel, reflected in its tasteful decor and its picturesque surroundings. It is situated within the village of Dedham, on the Suffolk/Essex border, which is full of tea rooms and genteel boutiques. The accommodation, tastefully renovated in 2016, is in a peaceful location near the church. It happily accommodates three people, with up to two canine companions in cosy, comfortable quarters.

The lounge is a welcoming place at the end of an energetic day, with a comfortable sofa and chair to relax into as you enjoy a TV programme or a DVD. The feature fireplace will keep you and waggy tails warm on a chilly night. You can enjoy meals in the kitchen/diner at the table and chairs, whether it's breakfast while you chat about your plans, or dinner while you recall the day's adventures. There are two inviting bedrooms on the first floor; a master double bedroom and a single bedroom with an additional pull out bed.

The quaint villages of Dedham and nearby Flatford (4 miles) were made famous by painter John Constable. The landscapes may be altered since his time, but they are still picturesque, and they offer plenty of walks in the fresh air for you and your four-legged friends. Further afield lies the beautiful villages of Long Melford (17 miles) and Lavenham (18 miles), both steeped in history and the backdrop to many a television series. Colchester (8 miles) offers you plenty of shops, restaurants, a large number of dog-friendly pubs and parks such as Highwoods Country Park (7.5 miles) where your four-legged friends can run and play, along with the rest of the family.

The cottage is brilliantly located but there is only parking available for one car. The kitchen is well equipped and has a dining table and chairs, there is a shower room with basin and W.C. on the upper floor as well as a separate W.C. on the ground floor. one of the prettiest villages I have stayed in, the cottage had everything you would need and was super cosy and within 50 yards of a tearoom!

We spent Christmas and New Year at the Cottage while visiting family and couldnt have been happier. It is within walking distance of Shops, Pubs and restaurants, the Marlborough does unbeatable breakfasts until 11am! The Cottage is very well equipped and a toilet on each floor a blessing for us oldies I would highly recommend it for a short break iRead moren a beautiful part of the country. Hide

The cottage was very comfortable overall. The location was fantastic, a great village to be able to walk into, beautiful, friendly with excellent facilities. We would certainly want to come back again some day.

Great location. A little tired round the edges but served a purpose for what we needed. Bear in mind there is no garden so if you have dogs you will need to walk down the road for grass as there is a park around 2 minutes walk.

Beautiful little cottage with a real cosy and homely feel. Spotlessly clean. Had everything we needed. Beautiful quite location with with the village around the corner which had all we needed too. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again next time we venture back to Essex

What a delightful cottage, in a very quiet area, with little light pollution. The cottage has everything you could wish for, for a quiet countryside break. Being in Dedham, you are close to both Colchester and Ipswich and the roads are quite enjoyable (if you keep away from the A12!) The owner is a lovely lady. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage suited us very well. Dedham is a lovely village and the surrounding scenery very pretty, with plenty of places to visit within a reasonable distance

Very conveeniently sited in Dedham, within walking distance of good restaurants, cafes and shops. Attractive local walks. The cottage is clean and very well equipped. The large shower is a joy to use, and the presence of toilets on both floors is very convenient. The owners are friendly and very helpful.
