Fish for salmon and trout from the riverbank in front of the property with a permit and watch the ponies and sheep as they graze in the adjoining field. Sleeping four, the single-level property is an ideal spot for a quiet family break.
Curl up on the sofa in the neutrally decorated lounge/kitchen, catching up on your favourite TV shows or simply soaking in the beautiful river view. The picturesque setting can be enjoyed from the conservatory too, where you will enjoy plenty of tasty family dinners. On warmer days and evenings dine alfresco at the BBQ, toasting to your holiday on the large enclosed decked area. The complex even has its own small play area, shared with the other properties on-site, which the kids are sure to enjoy. Once you’re ready to turn in, retire to one of the comfortable bedrooms—one double and one twin—which both possess en-suites. You will find off-road parking for two cars available at the side of the cottage.
Take a short 1-mile stroll to the centre of Cockermouth to explore the many shops, restaurants and pubs or wander the beautiful harbour town of Maryport, 8.5 miles away. Here you’ll find a long, dog-friendly sand and shingle beach, with views across the water to the Scottish coast. Bassenthwaite Lake National Nature Reserve is 10.5 miles east—the closest of the Lakes. Follow the lakeside path along the western shore, spot the local wildlife or even try your hand at sailing.
