If you are planning an extra-special staycation with all the family, then look no further than the stunning Northumberland countryside. Sleeping ten humans and two hounds, this superb property is ideal for large groups, providing the entire pack with oodles of home comforts including two kitchens, two lounge areas, and even access to on-site cookery and gardening courses. You’ll be able to explore your surroundings at leisure with Fido in tow, and the friendly owners can help you arrange catering to make any celebration a glamorous affair.

Step inside this former barn to discover a delightfully contemporary retreat with original timber beams and exposed stone walls. Laid out in a reverse-level style, the elegant bedrooms are tucked on the ground floor complete with polished concrete floors, underfloor heating, and their own gorgeous en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms. The downstairs is divided into two to allow for privacy, with two separate entrances, and two staircases leading upstairs to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Socialise in style on the first floor, letting sleeping dogs lie by the wood burner as you cook up a storm for family feasts, or settle down for film nights with wine and snacks. Outside, the original gin-gang area hosts a BBQ and garden furniture for al fresco dining, plus another patio area for quiet mornings admiring the views over coffee and pastries.

Grab Rex’s lead and stroll around the farm, greeting the resident animals as you explore. Learn about the surrounding areas fascinating history with a trip to Housesteads Roman Fort, 14.5 miles away, taking in the sights of Hadrian’s Wall and the Roman remains dotted throughout the site. Leave no stick unfetched as you scamper throughout the southern reaches of the Northumberland National Park, sniffing for rabbits at Muckle Moss National Nature Reserve, 13 miles away.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

What an incredible cottage and location. The owners were fantastic. Accommodating, generous and caring throughout our stay. The cottage was beautiful, very well equipped, maintained and clean. What a perfect place to stay with family and friends. We enjoyed everything about the Barn , it is in a beautiful setting and is done to a very high speck. The hosts were lovely and helpful from the time of booking until the end of our stay . Couldn't fault it! We would love to return again soon.
