For peace and tranquillity, head to Roadford Lake (15 miles away). It’s a truly magical place, situated in the picturesque Wolf Valley, with plenty of nature trails and footpaths to explore with the pups. Woofers are welcome in the cafe and there’s also a handy doggy wash station to deal with muddy paws. For a day by the seaside, journey west to the coastal town of Bude. Stroll along the beach, which is dog friendly all year, or head inland along the pretty 2-mile path that follows the canal. You can also join the South West Coast Path here and stride out along the wild and windy clifftop paths.
