An ideally located holiday home, on the west side of the Isle of Wight, to enjoy the beauty and history of the island

Gather the pack and set sail to the Isle of Wight for a staycation filled with countryside adventures, delicious local food and more seaside strolls than you can shake a stick at. Studded close to the shores of Colwell Bay, this cosy bungalow is ideal for up to six humans and three hounds. Start your days with a slap-up breakfast on the decked patio, planning your daily itinerary around ample stops for refreshments at one of the charming cafes.

 

Step through the entrance porch and wipe down muddy paws before relaxing in the comfortable lounge, scratching behind Fido’s ears as you catch up on some TV. A welcoming kitchen is a haven for enthusiastic cooks, where you can transform locally sourced ingredients into a culinary masterpiece. A spacious bedroom with an elegant en-suite shower room is just the ticket for weary guests, and two further bedrooms share a fabulous shower room. Natural light pours into the conservatory, where you can curl up with a good book and a few tasty treats. Outside, the garden is safely enclosed for curious pooches to play safely whilst their beloved owner sips wine on the decked area. There’s ample off-road parking too.

 

Sniff out iconic places to explore such as the Needles at Alum Bay 3 miles away, or the windswept hills leading to the Tennyson Down monument 2.5 miles away. A stunning 2.5-mile walk along the old railway line to Yarmouth is a wonderful way to spend the afternoon, refuelling with a hearty lunch at one of the friendly pubs. Further afield, the Victorian seaside town of Ventnor 19 miles away has a cheerful promenade and plenty to amuse guests of all ages, including a sand and shingle beach that welcomes furry visitors out of season.

  • 3 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week

Beautifully presented property in a very quite residential location. As you come out of the bungalow, if you turn left and follow the path past the other properties there is a sign for the Coastal Path. This will take you directly to the beach. Literally 2 mis walk. The way the property is laid out it would be ideal for differnet generations to staRead morey at the same time. We also found Holiday Cottages to be very good as usual in replying to any questions prior to our holiday. Hide

A very comfortable house, felt homely and contains all you need. Loved the location, great for Yarmouth ferry. Very easy with dogs, using conservatory and kitchen to enter and leave garden aswell as a large entrance hall. Parking good and in a very nice road. Whilst this bungalow has many attractive features i.e. clean, nicely laid out, good size lounge/dining area, nice conservatory/garden, as a full time wheelchair user the wet room was inaccessible, unless you can walk to the shower. This room is particularly narrow and the toilet sticks out blocking the way. On the website it is classified as 'increRead moreased accessibility' which I think is misleading. It would be advantageous if the wet room measurements were included especially the toilet to wall. Hide

Lovely location and property few issue which I have reported. Very nice welcome pack left . Triple choc chip biscuits a bottle of Prosecco milk coffee tea and sugar. Just to get you started until you go shopping. WiFi is intermittent and streaming TV frustrating. But who needs TV when you have a lovely beach on the doorstep and plenty of other thinRead moregs to do on the Island. Would I stay here again no. Could I recommend maybe with a bit more TLC. This bungalow was lovely, upon arrival we found a very well equipped kitchen, with very much appreciated touches tea coffee sugar biscuits, hand wash dishwasher tabs, washing machine tabs, washup liquid dishcloth etc this was not at all expected. A lovely large bungalow in a quiet lane, ideal for the disabled with reduced mobility. Very comfy beds, well equipped and a home from home. Close to the beach and a 5 minute drive from the shops, takeaway & doctor (if needed).

On arrival at the cottage the garden was extremely untidy not a great first impression. The cottage is in a pleasant location and very clean with comfortable beds and well equipped. Maintenence issues arose with both doors both being difficult to secure. The local contact and the agent were helpful in resolving the issues but never the less it was Read moretime consuming and frustrating. Very comfortable bungalow in an ideal situation. Very quiet and just a short stroll from the beach. Ample parking for two cars. We appreciated the conservatory and the decking area. My grandchildren were very pleased to have Sky tv too.

The property was in an excellent location for the beach, it was great to be able to walk to their from the bungalow. It was in a quiet location with good access to local attractions . It was well equipped with everything you'd need on holiday especially in the kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider revisiting.

A really lovely bungalow in a great location of Freshwater. Just a stroll to the beach. Lovely and quiet. This is our second visit to this bungalow, and the only thing I would like to say is that more attention needs to be put into the cleaning of the property. But this would not stop us staying there again.
