Set on the south coast of the beautiful Isle of Harris, this superb property offers spectacular views over the water and has been recently renovated to offer a high standard of accommodation for a family seeking a peaceful retreat in the Outer Hebrides.

Take your best furry friend with you for a Scottish island holiday and lose yourselves in the breathtaking scenery of the Outer Hebrides. Grab the lead and step straight out from this pretty, three-bedroom Scottish hideaway to walk across undulating hills and over sparkling sands. Return to the charming property, which sleeps up to six guests and one four-legged companion, to take in glorious views and rest weary paws.

Savour the complete serenity of this recently upgraded Isle of Harris cottage. You and your cheerful chum will savour its bright welcome and homely appeal. Prepare tasty dishes for all members of your party in your airy kitchen/diner and serve up at the table or breakfast bar while your pampered pet enjoys his nearby. Retire to the lounge to watch TV, play games and light the wood burner, with your happy hound at the heart of all the fun. As the fabulous day turns to night, head upstairs to one of your three cosy bedrooms and the family shower room. Set your pet's tail wagging when you let him out into the cottage's enclosed garden. Carry your first cup of coffee out there to join him and while away the first precious moments of the day just taking in the magical vistas.

Discover the beauty of the island from your base at Manish. Keep your pal on a lead close to sheep but find remote areas where he can run free. Head west, for example, to find beautiful beaches with clear waters, where there are no restrictions regarding your happy hound. Or drive 13 miles to Scarista Beach where he can bound and splash to his heart's content. Head 11 miles north to Luskentyre, where four-legged beach goers can also have the run of the sands.

If you want the perfect place to get away from it all and really experience Harris at its finest, then this house is the place for you. Narrow, single lanes roads lead you across a stunning landscape to the house right on the sea. Super comfortable and warm, with a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable sitting room with a wood fire to keep you coRead moresy. No WiFi too (well, you could get a couple of bars at the end of the front garden!), which was so liberating, however much our teenagers whined! Hide

Beautiful, wild location in the east coast of South Harris. Very well equipped and comfortable. The high tide was just a short distance from the kitchen window - from which we watched an otter fish.

Fabulous cottage in a beautiful setting. The cottage was comfortable, clean and well-equipped and we had a lovely week based here. The owners live close by and are on-hand if needed. Great location for exploring Harris (we also explored Lewis though we did end up doing quite a bit of driving).

Excellent in every way, a beautiful place to stay in the back of beyond. However, people should be aware that there's no wi-fi. Some may find this a relief, some may not!

We loved this place! The location was incredibletucked away yet still good access to other parts of Harris. We enjoyed looking out for eagles from the garden, kayaking from our little loch and clambering over the hill behind for seal spotting and fabulous views of Skye. Our family of 4 enjoyed an excellent week's holiday at Taigh Ailein - the spacious house was ideal for our requirements, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Our dog particularly enjoyed ambling around the garden, admiring the fantastic landscape and observing the wildlife, whilst her owners could be safe in the knowledge that she would be unable toRead more stray beyond the secure perimeter fencing. A wonderful, comfortable, spacious house. A downstairs toilet as well as a spacious shower room upstairs. The twin room could almost be a family room as as has double bed and single bed. The setting is amazing on the edge of the water. Liz and Ian were lovely. Very caring and helpful.

Fantastic stay here, the cottage is perfectly situated if you like to get away from it all, so peaceful and tranquil. The cottage is well equipped, but you really just site outside and watch the wildlife go by. Brilliant!

Its a lovely property in a very peaceful and tranquil location, it is kitted out with everything you might need whilst staying there. Its clean and bright and the rooms more substantial than the photos show. Theres the added bonus of a very nice (and useful) downstairs toilet in addition to the lovey bathroom upstairs.

This is a beautiful cottage, tastefully renovated and in a superb, remote location. We loved the ever-changing loch-side scenery visible out of all the windows, and hearing nothing but the sounds of wildlife, waves and weather. The only downside was having to leave after an immensely relaxing week.
