Welcoming up to two people and two dogs, this detached cottage in a Wildlife Trust-designated Local Wildlife Site is sure to get tails wagging, as a whole host of gorgeous country walks are available right from the property’s front door. Add to that the fact that there’s a wood burner for four-legged friends to curl up in front of and an outdoor hot tub for the humans to soak in—and you’ll understand why this property is pure bliss if you’re looking for a relaxing, romantic break.

One of two holiday cottages on the farm, this period property showcases some truly charming features, such as exposed beams and flagstone floors. Lovingly refurbished, the open-plan lounge/diner has a fabulous inglenook fireplace with an inviting wood burner. It’s the perfect spot to place your furry friend’s favourite blanket. The kitchen is stylish and spacious, while the bedroom and bathroom are contemporary yet cosy. Outside there is a private, fenced garden where you can enjoy a BBQ on the patio or a picnic on the lawn, or grab your swimsuit and take a dip in your private hot tub.

Just a short walk away, you’ll find the quaint village of Beguildy (1.5 miles), with its Norman castle, 14th-century church and traditional pub. If you want to explore further afield, take Fido for a scenic drive to the Shropshire Hills (16.5 miles). An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty since 1958, this region of tranquil hills, rolling farmland and river valleys is the perfect place for long walks in the fresh air.

Lovely cosy cottage. Large secure garden. Secure dog field was perfect. Lovely to see deer in the field on arrival. Massive bed. Kitchen well equipped. Scenery amazing. Hot tub wasn't warm enough until the morning after our first night which was a shame but we understand it is important to change the water after each guest which takes time. What a lovely stay! The cottage was clean, comfortable and in an unbelievably peaceful location. The weather wasnt great but it meant we were able to use the log burner and it was so warm and cosy in the evenings. We have noise sensitive dog (loud vehicles) and this cottage was perfect for him, completely away from any road noise. The house is located away from everything and has amazing views, especially from the hot tub! The house is lovely and cozy, wood burner is a treat at night and endless supply of wood is nice and easy. Delightful small but perfectly formed cottage for an away from it all break. Views are amazing, the log burner much appreciated after a walk with the dogs and the hot tub amazing at night! Dogs catered for brilliantly with a secure garden, plenty of walks and designated fields for exercising. Caroline was a fantastic friendly and helpful host.

The cottage is situated overlooking a quiet valley in a beautiful location. It has rustic charm and character, was clean and comfortable and perfect as a base to relax after days out in the stunning Shropshire Hills. A perfect get away. Clean, well equipped cottage with lots of character. Amazing views from the cottage, and so peaceful. It was lovely to relax in the hot tub after enjoying local walks around Beguildy, Knighton and Newtown. Cottage hosts very friendly and helpful. Enclosed garden and paddock perfect for our dog who had his best holiday.

Tack Cottage was the perfect retreat following our wedding. Peaceful, beautiful location with the most amazing view and garden. Fabulous gem on top of a hill, with open views over to Beguildy and the valley. Fridge in property and the use of a very large fridge freezer in the pump house. Dressing gowns were a plus along with towels, and a great log burner. Wood available along with charcoal for the bbq. Outdoor seating area, in addition , sun loungers and a large hot tub. Thank you so much to the Tack Cottage team. We were immediately made to feel welcome on arrival and enjoyed being invited to watch the pet sheep being sheered. The cottage itself is beautiful and is set in the most amazing surroundings (I didn't have to move the car whilst we were there as we could walk to the pub). Perfect location overlooking the rolling hills of Beguildy .The cottage was well equipped for us and our 3 dogs with a field all dog proofed for us to exercise our young Labrador..Caroline was very helpful and very welcoming and nothing was a problem.We had a Tesco delivery for the Friday evening which saved us taking food with us .A trip out to LuRead moredlow castle followed by lunch at the Lion finished off a perfect week .The hot tub is so relaxing and perfectly positioned.Would we go back ,yes Hide

Everything about it was amazing and so carefully thought out, the garden was secure for the dogs, the hot tub was lovely and private and the field at the back for the dogs was a perfect touch to be able to let them have a nice run!

We have stayed in a lot of different cottages across the country but this is our favourite! Beautiful location, huge bed, hot tub and everything you might need for a few days away. Not just dog friendly, it is positively dog welcoming. Our three dogs loved it!

Second visit here and was just as lovely as we remembered it. Everything was spotless and cozy. Excellent cottage, really does have all you need. Walks surrounding are amazing for walkers with it without dogs. Views are spectacular especially from the hot tub. Very welcoming oweners. Bbq supplied. Really cannot fault it.
