With panoramic views of the Dorset countryside, this fantastic barn conversion makes a perfect holiday retreat for a couple or a family looking for a cosy getaway just a few miles from Bridport.
The stylish converted barn sleeps five guests and one dog. Located just 1 mile from the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to breathtaking clifftop walks and rambles through the open countryside. Children will love the chance to hunt for fossils on the beaches – including Eype, just 3 miles away - and the dog can splash in and out of the water. Chideock is within walking distance and Seatown is less than 1 mile away, both villages have lovely dog-friendly eateries.
This fantastic holiday cottage embraces open-plan living, creating a light and spacious area in which to socialise and enjoy meals together. From the lounge, sit back and take in the beautiful views of the garden and countryside whilst your canine chum burns off some steam on the large shared lawn. At night, you could fire up the BBQ and soak up the peace and tranquillity long into the evening, thanks to the warmth from the chimenea. A tiny brook borders the shared lawn, and to the side of the barns is a further lawn which is perfect for children’s games. The handy hallway has plenty of storage for boots and dog-walking gear.
Chideock is brimming with character and charm and, together with the neighbouring hamlet of Seatown, is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are many footpaths and tracks to explore, winding through chocolate-box thatched cottages and out onto the wild and rugged clifftops. Fossils are frequently found along this part of the coast and, although dogs aren’t permitted on the beach at Seatown, they can join you at Eype – a fossil hunting hotspot. The lively market town of Bridport is 3 miles away and has an abundance of independent shops and boutiques to browse, as well as a great choice of dog-friendly pubs.
