A spacious cottage set on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and close to the popular towns of Crickhowell and Abergavenny. Nearby to a sweet country pub, making this a great retreat any time of year.

Set in the beautiful village of Glangrwyney with its traditional dog-friendly pub, this delightful semi-detached cottage is perfectly positioned for families and friends, including four-legged ones, to explore the Brecon Beacons. Head to the historic market town of Abergavenny to browse the independent stores and sniff out the castle ruins on a walk along the riverbank. Explore the industrial landscape of South Wales on a ramble around Garn Lakes (6 miles) seeing the remains of the colliery workings and spotting a steam train in the distance.

Stepping straight into the handy porch where you can remove muddy walking boots and wipe paws clean, enter into the warm and welcoming hallway. Prepare delicious dinners in the open-plan kitchen, a sociable space for cooking together or chatting late into the evening around the large dining table. After a long day of walking the mountains, rest your paws in the cosy lounge, snuggled up on the sofa while enjoying the warmth of the wood burner with your hound at your feet. Taking the stairs to the first floor, you will find the two comfortable bedrooms: a king-size four-poster room with en-suite shower room and a twin. There is also a bright family bathroom. Outside, there are lovely gardens with a small stream for cooling the paws.

The popular tourist town of Crickhowell (3 miles) is within easy reach where you will find a host of independent stores and well-regarded pubs serving delicious local produce. Take the lead along the abandoned tramway on the edge of town to access the breathtaking Craig-Y-Cilau nature reserve for a walk among the whitebeam trees. Climb the imposing Sugar Loaf mountain (4.5 miles) for wonderful views across the valley or stay on the level with a stroll along the towpath of the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal (1.5 miles).

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
