This quaint stone-walled period cottage with original features, is set in stunning Bothenhampton and combines old-fashioned charm with contemporary style.
This charming terraced property sleeps five guests and two furry companions. Located in the pretty village of Bothenhampton in Dorset, you’ll be within easy reach of the intriguing Jurassic Coast, with its abundance of breathtaking scenery and exhilarating walks, as well as the popular seaside resorts of West Bay (1.5 miles) and Lyme Regis (10.5 miles).
The delightful cottage is set on a raised pavement above the village lane and boasts a beautiful open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner, where the whole party can come together for evening meals and cosy chats around the wood burner. The flagstone floor provides the perfect napping spot for the hounds after a long walk. The light and airy bedrooms are all tastefully decorated and benefit from gorgeous rural views. Outside, you’ll find a magical enclosed cottage garden, with lots of hidden paths and secret areas that the dogs will love sniffing and exploring. The enclosed garden, located up 12 steps from the courtyard, also has a great outdoor seating area where you can enjoy a spot of al fresco dining.
Head to West Bay for quintessential Dorset charm; you may recognise it from the ITV series, Broadchurch. Although dogs aren’t permitted on the beach during the summer months, you’ll still enjoy pottering around the picture-postcard harbour, and you can pick up the South West Coast Path from here. Take the 1-mile clifftop walk to Eype Beach, where dogs can stretch their legs on the shingle shelving beach and splash in the water, before continuing towards the pretty hamlet of Seatown (a further 2 miles) for a spot of lunch before meandering back. Forde Abbey, just outside Lyme Regis, provides another great excursion. Dogs are welcome in the 30 acres of immaculate gardens and forests, and you can all enjoy refreshments in the tea room during your visit.
