This idyllic studio is the perfect rural escape for couples to experience the lush Devon countryside and spend quality time together with up to two of their four-pawed pals. Located in the pretty market town of Hatherleigh, there are walkies straight from your door. Stroll the tranquil paths of the Ruby Trail, a circular walk starting from the town’s distinctive sheep sculpture. Scamper down the Tarka Trail and enjoy panoramic views of patchwork farmland and Dartmoor beyond. Relax with a glass of wine on sunny evenings, gazing at the countryside views from your private patio as you spot wildlife.

The property, set within the grounds of the owner’s home, is bright and cheerful. Well positioned to create privacy, you can throw open the French doors and sizzle up a sausage on the BBQ on a raised patio with steps leading down to a safe lawn area that is perfect for pups to chase their tails and let off steam. An enclosed area for dogs and wash area will be available from the 1st April 2023. Inside, the open-plan design is fresh and bright with rustic cedar cladding. Cook up romantic meals in the well-equipped kitchen/diner before heading to the inviting lounge area to dip into a good book as your dog-tired hounds dream of tomorrow’s adventures. A comfy sofa bed is handy for including any additional overnight friends.

Hatherleigh is full of charm, with independent shops and cafes to sit in while enjoying good coffee and watching the world go by. Further afield, have a ball on a day out exploring the dramatic coastline of Bideford Bay on the South West Coast Path. Accessed from Westward Ho! (22 miles), there is an easy 1-mile walk to Cornborough Cliffs where the sea breeze will whip up the waves and there is plenty of birdlife soaring in the air to tire out Fido. The beach provides 2 miles of sandy shore for racing and throwing a ball.

Perfect home away from home! Ideal location to get to main roads but far enough away for peace & quiet. Cottage was well equipped and had everything you would need. Garden was safe for dogs to run around unleashed. The local village is a few minutes walk away with a Coop, chip shop and pub.

We had three restful nights at The Studio in Hatherleigh. The interior was lovely with wonderfully creative elements (a spirit level for a clothes rack!) some beautiful art work and soft furnishings. Very peaceful place to stay with a view of Dartmoor from the breakfast table. Stayed at the Studio along with our two dogs. A perfect spot to explore Devon..It was very clean, well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge area and a comfortable bed. Overall, a very stylish space. Comfortable, attractive studio. Loved the art. Garden also very pretty. The bird table and huge amount of wildlife. Including a woodpecker each morning so interesting.

What a fabulous holiday we all had. A lovely studio in its own enclosed garden. Our two dogs really enjoyed the freedom of running round off their leads are we sat sipping wine on the patio. The studio apartment itself had a well equipped kitchen ,a comfy sitting area and a lovely modern bathroom.The location was ideal, only about an hour away fromRead more each coast so we could visit Bude one day and Salcombe the next. We had a great stay in this cute little studio. The garden was great with amazing views. Loved the little undercover seating area for when it was a bit drizzly. Inside the bed and sofa were really comfy lots of little touches like leaflets with walks in the area, toiletries etc made it feel like home. Would most definitely return.

The studio is a truly amazing place to stay. This was our third stay. We really appreciate the attention to detail by the owners and the new fencing in the garden was a real bonus as it meant that our dogs could roam freely when we sat in the garden. Thank you! A fantastic stay once again!

The Studio is gorgeous, the photos don't do it justice. Its stylish, comfortable and well thought out. Everything has been thought of and considered to enable a great holiday. The views are beautiful from the windows, the bookcase full of interesting and unusual books. We wish we could have stayed longer - it was a restorative break. Thank you

This is a fantastic place to stay. The decor was lovely. Although it is a small cottage, we found everything we needed. The owners are on hand if you need them but not intrusive - it felt like 'our'cottage for the week. Although the garden isn't dog-proof, there are plenty of places nearby to exercise your dog. Lovely property for accessibility, though a wheelchair might find the loose stone driveway difficult (I managed easily with crutches). Equipment was ample for a short stay. The seating for someone with a disability was a little uncomfortable but manageable The garden is beautiful and the outside space relaxing. A fantastic Studio in a great location. Everything was immaculate, easy to connect to WiFi, well equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom and a very comfy bed. Claire and Tim were very nice, and were there if we did needed them ( even the offer of use of a washing machine if we needed it ).
