A perfect base to explore Exmoor and the delightful villages of Lynton and Lynmouth. Just a short stroll from the village centre of Lynton makes it a perfect destination for a relaxing holiday.

This pretty property, located just 2 miles from Blacklands Beach, is the ideal holiday home for families that want a break in Devon and can’t bear to see their four-legged family member miss out. Sleeping five over three welcoming bedrooms, this charming cottage is an opportunity to get away from busy life and enjoy the stunning Devon coast as well as Exmoor National Park. Join the South West Coast Path less than a mile from the house and stroll past the feral goats at the Valley of Rocks (1.5 miles) through to Crock Point (3 miles).

Entered via a few steps, the cottage has a bright and inviting open-plan feel. The huge kitchen features stunning uneven stone walls and a rustic table perfect for quick bites in the morning, or you have a more formal meal in the dining area, up a step, among soft décor.  Sink into the sofas in the lounge area and look out over the rooftops of Lynton; it won’t be long before the pup takes their place in front of the wood burner! Take a long soak in the beautiful roll-top bath before snuggling into bed in one of the peaceful bedrooms.

There are so many wonderful walks you can take around Exmoor. Take a 5.5-mile walk from County Gate (7 miles) to Oare Church (8 miles) and see if you can spot some of the places described in RD Blackmore’s novel ‘Lorna Doone’. Make sure you take a picnic and spend the day at Woolacombe Beach (22 miles) where hounds have access to almost all of the beach all year, or Croyde Bay (24.5 miles) between October and April. Make sure you take a ride on the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, where the top station is only half a mile from your door.

The cottage is in a great location for getting into town. Its also very quiet. Parking, however, is a bit of an issue. Some nice touches on arrival - fresh flowers and biscuits. Plenty of thick towels, and loo roll! Kitchen not very well equipped for cooking food from scratch - pans and utensils not great. Lighting, particularly in the sitting roomRead more, could be improved - some areas are a bit dark and others not very cosy. A few little touches and some TLC could improve the place no end. Hide

This is a cosy and well-appointed cottage. We particularly enjoyed the log fire in the evening. The view from the top floor bedroom is lovely. The view from the garden is not for the faint-hearted as it is a steep climb!

Although this property was a good size with plenty of room for young grandchildren to run around, the standard of cleanliness was poor. The hot water tap was broken in the top floor bathroom. The wall lights in the living room didnt work and the kitchen was grubby. The garden was not enclosed even though described so. Hide

Beautiful cottage, located near The Valley of the Rocks. Easy walk into the town and Cliff Railway. The cottage itself has ample room, and a pretty stone garden. The climb to the top is a bit steep, but worth it for the views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you

A comfy cottage in a great location on the edge of Lynton, within easy reach of all amenities. Highlights are the Gothicesque garden and garden room - great for a siesta! And, only having a galley at home, the 360 degree kitchen was a real pleasure to cook in. Our third time and it didn't disappoint.
