A perfect base to explore Exmoor and the delightful villages of Lynton and Lynmouth. Just a short stroll from the village centre of Lynton makes it a perfect destination for a relaxing holiday.
This pretty property, located just 2 miles from Blacklands Beach, is the ideal holiday home for families that want a break in Devon and can’t bear to see their four-legged family member miss out. Sleeping five over three welcoming bedrooms, this charming cottage is an opportunity to get away from busy life and enjoy the stunning Devon coast as well as Exmoor National Park. Join the South West Coast Path less than a mile from the house and stroll past the feral goats at the Valley of Rocks (1.5 miles) through to Crock Point (3 miles).
Entered via a few steps, the cottage has a bright and inviting open-plan feel. The huge kitchen features stunning uneven stone walls and a rustic table perfect for quick bites in the morning, or you have a more formal meal in the dining area, up a step, among soft décor. Sink into the sofas in the lounge area and look out over the rooftops of Lynton; it won’t be long before the pup takes their place in front of the wood burner! Take a long soak in the beautiful roll-top bath before snuggling into bed in one of the peaceful bedrooms.
There are so many wonderful walks you can take around Exmoor. Take a 5.5-mile walk from County Gate (7 miles) to Oare Church (8 miles) and see if you can spot some of the places described in RD Blackmore’s novel ‘Lorna Doone’. Make sure you take a picnic and spend the day at Woolacombe Beach (22 miles) where hounds have access to almost all of the beach all year, or Croyde Bay (24.5 miles) between October and April. Make sure you take a ride on the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway, where the top station is only half a mile from your door.
