Beautiful location. Beautiful lodge in desperate need of updating. Very tired and dated inside and equipped with the basics. Shower head hanging off wall in upstairs bathroom. Water doesn't drain away in downstairs bathroom sink. Wallpaper peeling off walls dead flies behind beds. This is not a 4 star. Such a beautiful place with lovely scenery.

Husband and I had a fantastic week at Stobars Lodge with our 2 pointers. Location is perfect with only a 10min walk into the town. We were disappointed with the interior of the house. It looked stunning and spacious on the photos. But downstairs shower was not to be use, because cold water was not connected. Spacious lodge in a good location near Yorkshire Dales NP. In walking distance to the town centre of Kirkby Stephen. The lodge could be better cared for.

We booked as a couple with a dog, but decided to take my elderly mother along too, this property is perfect for this sort of arrangement. There is plenty of space, the beds were clean and comfortable, and the location is great, with Kirkby Stephen shops and pubs a 10 min walk. Recommend to all.

Really spacious, clean and neat cottage. Pet friendly, but be aware it is not fenced and when we stayed there were a lot of rabbits in the ground, so we had to keep our dog on his lead when we took him out.
