Located on an organic farm high in the beautiful Black Mountains, this gorgeous barn conversion offers spectacular views, total quiet and pure escapism from the daily grind. It is also superbly placed for sniffing out adventure along the England / Wales border, with the Brecon Beacons National Park, Offa’s Dyke Path and Wye Valley all waiting to be explored on foot or by bike.
Blending classic and contemporary, this delightful property provides a wonderful and idyllic retreat for two, plus one canine companion, with exposed beams and flagstone floors contrasting with vibrant splashes of colour. The living space has an open-plan design, with a warming wood burner to create a cosy retreat after a day outdoors. Set across two levels, the lounge area provides lovely views to the surrounding countryside, with a couple of steps taking you up to a contemporary kitchen/dining area. Alternatively, you can step outside onto your private enclosed terrace and dine alfresco, perhaps taking advantage of the supplied BBQ while you relish the amazing views.
With the Black Mountains on your doorstep there are plenty of exciting trails to sniff out, with further walking, cycling and water-based activities awaiting you in the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley, both of which lie within 25 miles of your door. You are also free to roam the owner’s historic grounds and gardens, which cover 69 acres; or head to the small spa and sauna to wind down (additional charges apply). Alternatively, urban hounds may prefer to pad the pavements of the literary town of Hay-on-Wye, 7 miles north-west, or the cathedral city of Hereford, 17 miles east.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
