Set within thirty acres which make up Spring Farm, enjoying breath taking views down the Bryn Awr Valley. This sympathetically restored Victorian railway carriage is simply perfect for relaxing, exploring and stargazing whatever the time of year.

For you and your beloved canine companion, the carriage is a wonderful couple’s retreat for a romantic stay. Whether you have two legs or four, the area surrounding the property is packed with walks and trails to suit everyone. Explore the woods and rivers of the Brecon Beacons National Park or scale the slopes of the nearby mountains. In the evening, return to your home away from home, hang up the lead, and settle in for a cosy night under the stars.

Furnished to maximise space, the carriage is an oasis of calm and comfort. Leave boots, coats, and towels for muddy paws in the porch, and light the wood burner for a warm evening glow. As your hound basks in front of the heat, enjoy a warm shower in the spacious wet room, and soothe tired legs after a day out on the hills. At one end of the carriage is the double bed, and above it a glazed roof, so you can star gaze before you fall asleep. The next morning, slide the picture window open and step out onto the wooden terrace for a breakfast with panoramic views. If you want a day relaxing outdoors, you don’t have to go far: while you four-legged friend has a roll on the grass, you can laze in the hammock for two, which is ready and waiting in the orchard.

Walk to the peaks of the Sugar Loaf (6 miles) and the Skirrid (7 miles), for a new adventure your dog will adore. Both mountains are rated by the National Trust as dog-friendly, moderate walks, with a few steep climbs, so small paws take care! Stroll around the picturesque towns of Abergavenny (4.5 miles) and Crickhowell (5.5 miles): a pub there will even treat your faithful friend to a tasty bowl of chicken!

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We have just come back from four nights in this lovely converted railway carriage. It is very comfortable and well-equipped and we loved lying in bed at night looking at the stars. There are various walking routes right from the door. We would definitely love to stay there again. The owners were very welcoming and excellent hosts.
