This fabulous barn conversion has been lovingly fitted and furnished in a beautifully sympathetic style, boasts a private patio with hot tub, and is just a short drive to the stunning North Devon coast.

This stunning converted barn, situated just 6 miles from popular Bideford, is ideal for a romantic getaway – and there’s no need to leave the pups behind! Sleeping you both in a peaceful king-size bedroom with plenty of space for up to two dogs, this historic building offers a tranquil retreat with original brickwork and beams throughout. Return home after a long day exploring and sink into the hot tub on the sun trap patio for the perfect end to an evening of al fresco dining and discovering the five acres of grounds.

The property, which is part of a 13th-century estate, is bright and airy. Exposed brick and wood beams add to the character of the space, and there’s plenty of light thanks to the double height vaulted ceiling. Head to bed in the cosy bedroom on the ground floor; wake up refreshed and head up the spiral staircase to the mezzanine level to the country-style kitchen/diner to cook up a storm for breakfast. But if you prefer to start your day slowly, chill on the comfy sofas on the ground floor with your coffee until it’s time to head out.

Make sure you visit ever-popular Westward Ho! (7 miles), where dogs are welcome on parts of the beach all year, or stroll around the Northam Burrows Country Park that sits just behind the beach. Historic village Clovelly (9 miles) is also well worth taking a look around, with little shops and cafes available. And for something a little bit different, why not visit the Gnome Reserve (6 miles) and see how many gnomes and pixies you can spot peeking around the trees and flowers?

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely cottage and beautiful view of the stars. The weather wasn't enough to put us off exploring and had an amazing time relaxing.

Lovely warm cottage set in the lovely village of Buckland Brewer. Hot tub a real treat on a cold wet evening. Shop & pub within easy walking distance. Beautiful beaches close by.

The cottage was absolutely stunning and the owners were really responsive when we had an issue with the driver. It was further away from local amenities than I was led to believe, it would have been very difficult to have a wander into the village due to the tight roads without a path. Despite the little niggles we did really enjoy our week here, aRead mores did our pooch who enjoyed having a wander around the grounds. Hide
