Set within the fringes of a traditional village, this hand crafted Norwegian style lodge is the perfect base for family and friends to enjoy a great holiday whatever the time of year.

Holiday in true style – with your cherished dogs in tow – at this beautiful Scandi-inspired hut in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Made out of beautiful wood, it has a glorious Alpine woodland feel. Nearby, you’ll find plenty of options for countryside walks to wow all members of your party, with the stunning Wye Valley and the Black Mountains both within easy reach. This home sleeps up to four adults and two dogs, so is great if you’re a small family or group of friends who want to take your pets away with you.

The lodge is accessed through a wooden porch which also serves as a relaxation spot – as your poodles digest doggie treats in their basket, get stuck into your favourite author’s new novel with a cup of something hot close to hand. The entrance looks out onto a large lawn where your little fuzz ball can let off some steam while you read. Inside, there’s a roomy kitchen/diner where the group can relax and eat together. There’s also a cosy lounge with a TV, sofas and blankets for quiet evenings in.

The lodget is in the village of Clearwell, which has dog-friendly pubs you can wander to. The stunning Tintern Abbey, which welcomes dogs on leads, is 8.5 miles away. If you feel like doing something active, head to Symonds Yat (11 miles), where there are rock climbing and canoeing opportunities that are suitable for well-behaved canines. If you’re holidaying as part of a larger group, consider making use of the nearby Hawthorn Cottage, also part of Stank Farm. This charming cottage sleeps up to two people and two dogs.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

SLEEPS: There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with twin singles and the option of a third occasional bed for a child. Bed linen is provided for your stay.

RELAXING: Electric and central heating and Wi-Fi is included for your stay.

A beautiful, tranquil week away. Great lodge in a perfect location with everything you need for a home from home. Lazy sunny afternoons on the porch with 2 very tired dogs after long walks in the Forest. Lovely lodge situated in the quiet village of Clearwell, great base to explore the Forest of Dean. There is a great play park/field just across the road which was great for us to give the dog a leg stretch first thing in the morning before setting off walking for the day. Wonderful hosts and location. It was perfect for our 3 and 5 year olds. Not only did they love seeing (and hearing) the animals in the morning, but the front yard and recreation area across the property were perfect for keeping them entertained.

Lovely and quirky dog friendly lodge, basic but comfortable accommodation in a great location. Very comfortable and well thought out and great to have two bathrooms. The lodge was in a good location, surrounded by some good things to do if you don't have a dog. We had a dog so had to travel out. During our stay there was a fly problem, we would come back to around 50 dead flies in the bedroom and shower upstairs.. very off putting.

If you want a wonderfully tranquil location with a secure garden for children or a dog - this is the perfect property for you. Very comfortable beds, good shower and super views from the balcony with a farm next door where Philip showed us the new piglets. Also quiet but very well equipped childrens area and dog walking field across the road.

The lodge is in an excellent location, in a beautiful setting. Our children loved being able to see the cows from the window and to play in the playground over the road. We were very comfortable in our beds and there was lots to do nearby.

This lodge is a beaut. Well equipped, cutely decorated, amazing water pressure! Gorgeous location out in the country but with nearby town being only a 10 min drive away. Great for kids as there is a park just opposite and football field, but equally good for no-kids as the play area is far enough away not to be bothered by noise.

The property was a perfect base for many of the activities available in the Forest of Dean. It was extremely clean and comfortable. Clover the cat was a regular at our back door which the children loved. The playground opposite was very quiet and the children often had it to themselves! We would definitely return.
