Set within the fringes of a traditional village, this hand crafted Norwegian style lodge is the perfect base for family and friends to enjoy a great holiday whatever the time of year.
Holiday in true style – with your cherished dogs in tow – at this beautiful Scandi-inspired hut in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Made out of beautiful wood, it has a glorious Alpine woodland feel. Nearby, you’ll find plenty of options for countryside walks to wow all members of your party, with the stunning Wye Valley and the Black Mountains both within easy reach. This home sleeps up to four adults and two dogs, so is great if you’re a small family or group of friends who want to take your pets away with you.
The lodge is accessed through a wooden porch which also serves as a relaxation spot – as your poodles digest doggie treats in their basket, get stuck into your favourite author’s new novel with a cup of something hot close to hand. The entrance looks out onto a large lawn where your little fuzz ball can let off some steam while you read. Inside, there’s a roomy kitchen/diner where the group can relax and eat together. There’s also a cosy lounge with a TV, sofas and blankets for quiet evenings in.
The lodget is in the village of Clearwell, which has dog-friendly pubs you can wander to. The stunning Tintern Abbey, which welcomes dogs on leads, is 8.5 miles away. If you feel like doing something active, head to Symonds Yat (11 miles), where there are rock climbing and canoeing opportunities that are suitable for well-behaved canines. If you’re holidaying as part of a larger group, consider making use of the nearby Hawthorn Cottage, also part of Stank Farm. This charming cottage sleeps up to two people and two dogs.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
