Immaculate and spacious property with a gorgeous garden. Plenty to do and see in the area and the working farm makes it fun and interesting for all. Ideal for a family or group of friends.
This fantastic property, situated on the edge of Northumberland National Park and close to the Scottish border, is the perfect place to spend a holiday with your loved ones, including your loyal hounds who are as part of the family as anyone else! Sleeping six over three indulgent bedrooms, and with space for up to two dogs, it won’t be long before you’re off out exploring the grounds of the farm (make sure the pups are on leads!). If you’re up for a challenge, try a 3.5-mile circular walk summiting Kilham Hill (4 miles).
The cottage, which sits on the farm with another holiday home, has a wonderful blend of farmhouse charm and contemporary styling. The kitchen/diner is bright and airy with sleek worktops and tiles, and there’s even a coffee table for two to sit and gaze out of the window in the morning. The lounge is spacious but keeps its cosy character with an open fire and quirky sofas and chairs to curl up on in the evenings; choose a book from the bookcase and delve into another world while the pups take a nap by the fireplace. Outside, a beautiful stone patio is perfect for al fresco dining while children and dogs will love to play on the huge lawn.
Visit the Chain Bridge Honey Farm (15 miles) where you can see the bees in an observation glass; leave the dogs with a grown-up so they can take the lead and explore the grounds. See if you can spot seals on Spittal Beach (18 miles) where canine companions are welcome all year round. Take a trip over to Holy Island and wander the grounds of Lindisfarne Castle (22.5 miles) and keep an eye out for the varied wildlife and rare plants.
