This serene and spacious detached country house on the Devon/Cornwall border sleeps ten and three dogs, making it the perfect choice for two families sharing or big gatherings. If you, your family and your four-legged friends love beach walks, pretty countryside and cosy pubs, it’ll be just perfect. The house has a big garden with lots of space for active kids and dogs to play, and easy access to the renowned South West Coast path, for endless clifftop and sandy beach walks.
Inside, the house is as elegant as it is roomy. There are two cosy lounges, each with its own character, and both with wood burners for the dogs to curl up in front of after a hard day's stick-chasing. There are two eating spaces too: a formal dining room for long nights catching up over dinner, and a breakfast room where you can plan your day over your morning coffee. The kitchen is spacious, with a range cooker that can easily handle meals for ten, and a separate utility room where you can get muddy paws cleaned up. There are five bedrooms, each sleeping two, and four bathrooms. The house’s large, green lawn surrounds it, and there’s a patio with garden furniture and a gas BBQ. There’s also a games room separate from the house, with its own snooker table.
The house is 3 miles from the remote Duckpool beach, where the kids can play in the rock pools while the dogs run on the sand. The South West Coast Path leads to more rugged and wild beaches and cliffs in both directions, perfect for long walks that everyone will love, no matter how many legs they have. The resort of Bude, a favourite with surfers and with a fabulous dog-friendly beach, is 7 miles away.
