Step back in time when you stay in this 19th century property in the heart of picturesque Cranbrook. Formerly a coffee house, this is now a romantic bolthole for two, plus the dog, boasting a stylish blend of period charm and modern comforts. A great starting point for many memorable walks through the Kent countryside, Cranbrook also boasts a host of dog-friendly cafes and pubs - perfect for refuelling after long days out and about.

Inside, an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner boasts a stylish and contemporary loft-style layout interspersed with delightful original features. Prepare romantic meals for two in the chic modern kitchen area, while your partner enjoys a glass of fizz at the breakfast bar. Dine on a charming schoolhouse chair or pew in the window before retreating to the cosy lounge area for the evening. While you catch up on your favourite TV programme on the Smart TV, your canine companion can keep cosy beside the roaring wood burner which sits within an original brick hearth. When it’s time for bed, retreat to the romantic double bedroom with its antique wrought-iron bedstead and spectacular views towards the windmill. This picturesque pocket of the Garden of England boasts a vast array of dog walking locations. Set out on foot from the property to follow the local footpaths and peaceful lanes or jump in the car to explore the area further. Just 8.5 miles away, Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest is popular among dogs, walkers, mountain bikers and runners alike and also has a Go Ape tree top adventure course. Meanwhile, Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, only 3 miles away, offers more than 450 acres of dog-friendly grounds to explore. Dogs are welcome on board the Kent and Sussex Railway, which follows the beautiful Rother Valley, stopping at charming small rural stations including Bodiam (8.5 miles) and Northiam (10.5 miles).

Fabulous Christmas break at St David's House. The owner Jules is a very friendly & helpful chap, great communication. The property has absolutely everything you could think of for a week away. Excellent kitchen facilities, the property is much bigger than the photos suggest yet manages to retain its cosy feel with the wood burner. Lovely spacious apartment with well equipped kitchen. Good location for visiting several National Trust properties. Parking easy in the free car park opposite. Excellent communication from the owner.

The cottage is delightful, decorated to a high standard and quirky, 2 good sofas, a log burner but didn't need to use it,well equipped kitchen a large dining table,excellent drench shower,very comfortable bed,it does sit on a main road but it wasn't a problem for us,plenty of walks nearby and 4 cafes,only 2 pubs in the village now as 1 closed 6 weeRead moreks ago,but there are a few decent country pubs a short drive away with nice food,we had a very peaceful and relaxed holiday Hide

Large sized apartment, well equipped and furnished. Was perfect for our needs of visiting relatives in the local area. Car parking easiest in the free car park directly opposite the apartment. Good for dog owners as access to green areas close by.

A beautiful flat, well equipped and a generous welcoming package to start yr arrival with. Close enough to pubs and eating addresses to walk to. We had a fantastic week long stay in this beautiful and comfortable loft style apartment. The living space is huge for two people. The wifi was very fast. The kitchen was very well equipped for home cooked meals but only 2 minutes walk to pubs, cafes and restaurants when we wanted to eat out. We loved the log burner and had a fire every night. A lovely warm welcome from Jules, the owner, who sent us lots of advance information and some welcome goodies which were much appreciated. The apartment is spacious, super comfortable and well equipped. Great shower and very comfortable bed complete with view of the famous Cranbrook windmill. The apartment was first class. The best equipped we have ever stayed in. Nothing was left out. So much space. Parking was first rate and the location was perfect for visiting NationalTrust properties. We were impressed with the quality and range of the equipment in the kitchen - and it was really useful to find condiments etc in the cupboard as well as tea & coffee, along with the milk, bread and eggs Jules supplied. Central location meaning everywhere in Cranbrook was walkable. However, at the side of a busy road and therefore traffic noise. Didn't bother us too much, but may others. If the local council replaced the worn out rubber speed bumps outside the property with new, concrete speed pillows, it would hopefully prevent traffic passing the front window atRead more speeds well in excess of 30 mph!! We stayed for a couple of nights and it is a perfect spot for exploring Cranbook and the area around it. The appartment has everything you need and the owner is very helpful. We took our dog and there was plenty of space for all of us. It feels very spacious for an appartment. Perfect location for exploring the area, Hastings, Rye etc, Sissinghurst just up the road, Bodium castle and Scotney castle close by. Nice cafes in the village. Would I stay here again, a big YES!!
