This pretty property nestles in a secluded setting in the grounds of the owners' 5.5 acre smallholding, boasts countryside views, and has been lovingly furnished to provide a relaxed couples retreat.

If scenic walks across the countryside and evenings snuggled in front of a crackling fire sounds just like your cup of tea, then this charming bolthole is the ideal choice for you. Sleeping two guests and one dog, this delightful property is set in a handy location just 6 miles from the historic Cornish town of Launceston, so you could soon be adventuring near and far. You’ll have everything you need for a comfortable stay and the owners have even provided dishes, toys, a cosy bed and a blanket for your beloved hound, so four-legged friends will feel right at home – especially when they spot their welcome packet of treats.

Inside, the kitchen/dining area consists of a fabulous contemporary-style kitchen and a handcrafted dining table for romantic meals. French doors lead outside to the decked area, allowing natural light to stream in as Fido watches the resident nesting sparrows flitting about the garden. A shower room completes the ground floor, providing muddy paws with an area to wash away any mess. Climb the stairs to find an irresistible open-plan lounge/bedroom area with vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and a wood burner. Outside, the enclosed garden is a marvellous place to enjoy an al fresco breakfast with panoramic views, and there’s a BBQ for special summer suppers too.

Crackington Haven 14 miles away is a popular beach with a seasonal dog ban in place, but hidden gems such as Millook Haven Beach (13 miles) and the sandy shores of Widemouth Bay (12 miles) welcome furry visitors in certain areas all year round. Foodies rejoice as there is plenty to tempt your taste buds, whether you choose to dine on seafood fresh from the sea, or pick up delicious produce to whip up your own feasts.

Sparrow Barn is a lovely spot with great facilities and the owners are so welcoming and kind. The information shared with us was very helpful and the welcome goodies for us and our dog were a lovely surprise and much appreciated. I would highly recommend a visit.

Amazing place! Booked Sparrow Barn for 3 nights for our dogs first holiday, the hosts were brilliant, really welcoming and helpful. The barn had everything we could possibly need plus a lovely welcome basket and was immaculately clean and tidy. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be booking again.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The accommodation was immaculate, with everything available. The location was wonderful. Sparrow Barn is so much more than accommodation. Paul and Bev were so friendly and helpful. Absolutely delightful week. Thank you Paul and Bev.

Another lovely few days at Sparrow Barn: We are always made to so feel welcome and Bev always has extras when we first arrive which we are so grateful for. An amazingly comfortable large bed. Everything we need and we never get fed up with the beautiful view from the kitchen patio doors. We always sit there in the morning with our cuppa. Lovely, quiet location with fantastic views and very private. Incredibly clean and very well equipped. Very cosy accommodation - sofa and bed both very comfortable. The property is really well renovated and set out. Very private, especially to the rear for quiet evening relaxation. The donkeys in the field are great entertainment. Very nice owners and very helpful.

The owners of this beautiful, cosy little cottage couldn't do enough for us. They were a lovely couple. The farm was a nice place with an attractive view and there's plenty to do round about, even in winter.

We felt very much welcome from the beginning. There was even a welcome-package for us and also for our dog. Bev and Paul are wonderful hosts, very helpful and humorous. They always gave us good recommendations on eateries and places to visit. And their two Jack Russels Maisie and Pepper are amazing.

We had an excellent stay and would definitely return if we were to stay in that direction again. Lovely hosts, it has everything needed for a comfortable stay, great location to use as a base to explore cornwall and local shops and pubs etc. only a short drive away.

We spent a wonderful week at Sparrow Barn and really didn't want to leave. Bev and Paul are fantastic hosts, very friendly and helpful. The barn itself is just perfect, we both slept so well and the views from the decking are spectacular. It was so lovely to watch the lambs and donkeys graze in the paddock next to the barn.
