Perched just metres from the shore on the glorious Isle of Arran, this whitewashed bolthole surrounded by beautiful scenery offers the perfect base for eight guests with a thirst for adventure.
Located on the Isle of Arran, just metres from the shore of the Firth of Clyde, this delightful and spacious ground-floor apartment provides fabulous sea views, with otters and seals frequently spotted from the front windows. Sleeping eight guests across four rooms – plus two hounds – this island idyll occupies an enviable position and is perfectly placed for exploring on foot, (or paw), by bike or by car.
Your island adventure begins with a ferry crossing from Ardrossan to Brodick, followed by a gentle journey north along the coast road. The shared driveway provides plenty of parking, with a large shed for storing bikes and other outdoor equipment; the property's waterside location makes it popular for kayaking and will be a real hit with water-loving pups. The enclosed south-facing garden is a great spot to relax in at the end of the day, enjoying the glorious views before retreating into the spacious interior. The lounge and kitchen/diner are separated by double doors, giving you the choice of creating two individual rooms or opening the living space up. At the end of the day, there is a choice of two en-suite double bedrooms and two twin rooms.
From the property, you have a wide choice of walks, including forestry tracks, the 874m peak of Goatfell, and Brodick Castle and gardens, which is dog-friendly, but they must be kept on leads. Heading south, Brodick, the island's main village, is reached after just 3.5 miles, where you will find a range of shops, galleries and restaurants, as well as the island's main visitor centre. Further afield, the village of Lochranza is 11 miles north, at the tip of the island, where you have the option to take a short ferry trip – with or without your car – to Claonaig on the mainland to explore the Kintyre peninsula.
