Stroll down to the seashore at Lower Largo to let your holidaying hound bound across the sand. This charming former fisherman’s home, which sleeps six guests and welcomes a canine companion with open paws, is just a stroll from the Scottish beach. Enjoy heading out on other walks too through this east coast corner and even embark upon a section of the 117-mile Fife Coastal Path.
Enter your handsome 150-year-old terraced, stone house to find a bright lounge/diner, with ample space for everyone. Settle down to watch the Freeview TV or choose a DVD, while your furry pal also makes himself at home. Wander through into the kitchen to wash any damp doggy towels in the washing machine and spin them in the dryer. Give your happy chappie his meal to enjoy and then cook something tasty for the rest of the family. Your family bathroom is also on the ground floor. Head up the cottage-style stairs to find two bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room on the first floor. An improved steeper staircase leads up to the second floor, where your third bedroom has an en-suite WC and sea views. Enjoy the sunshine in your enclosed elevated garden but keep an eye on small children and your pup as the stone steps up to it are very steep.
Spend hours leaving paw prints in the sand on Lower Largo Beach. For longer trips, grab the lead, pack some provisions, and head off with your cheerful chum along the Fife Coastal Path from Lower Largo to St Monans. This section of almost 9 miles takes you past beaches, along cliff-tops and by the ruins of a castle. Venture 11 miles to Craigtoun Country Park, where you and your furry friend can explore the 47 acres of grounds and children can enjoy the play equipment.
