This cosy cottage in the pretty Devon town of Bideford provides the perfect getaway for the whole family – including its four-pawed members. It sleeps four adults and two dogs, so there’s plenty of room for you all to relax together in this charming riverside setting. With the Torridge estuary, Tarka Trail and sandy beaches all nearby, there’s plenty to entertain humans and canines who love the great outdoors. The lovely views from the property mean you can enjoy its beautiful surroundings from the comfort of the sofa.
Inside this newly built cottage, you’ll find a cosy open-plan space with a kitchen, a corner sofa and an eating area. Upstairs there’s a mezzanine where you can play games or read while Fido nods off in front of the wood burner. Bi-fold doors from the lounge area lead to a well-equipped garden. There’s an patio where the dogs can run around while you soothe your muscles in the hot tub. You can cook and eat alfresco too – bake dinner in the pizza oven or heat the BBQ up for a meaty feast that’s bound to get Fido’s nostrils going (go on, throw him a sausage or two for a holiday treat!).
The village has a range of shops and restaurants for you to explore, plus a range of pub options that welcome pets. If you’re wanting a good dose of fresh air, pop to Westward Ho!, 2 miles away, to walk along the beach – your hound will adore getting his paws all sandy and taking impromptu dips into the sea. The coastal towns of Instow and Appledore (both 4 miles away) are also great spots for ball throwing, seagull chasing and fish-and-chip munching.
