Perfectly positioned in a peaceful location close to Coniston Water in the Lake District, this delightful lodge is the ideal rural retreat for a couple and their four-legged friend. We know canine companions are an important part of the family so pack up their favourite bed, some well-chewed toys and fluffy towels for drying off after a dip in the lake, and bring Fido along for a holiday to remember. With a plethora of lakeside walks right from the doorstep, you would be barking mad not to.

The quaint lodge is just the right size for a couple to enjoy a romantic escape away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Inside is a beautifully light lounge/kitchen/diner – a social living space where you can relax together on the comfortable sofas with Fido at your feet or cook up a storm in the kitchen. Don’t forget to bring your dog’s favourite bed, as there is a spot in front of the fire with their name on it. After a peaceful night’s sleep in the cosy bedroom, throw open the doors to the enclosed balcony and enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the sound of bird song.

The picture-postcard village of Coniston (5.5 miles) offers an array of shops, pubs, restaurants, activities and the Ruskin Museum. Enjoy the beautiful scenery from the National Trust’s Steam Yacht Gondola, which leaves from Coniston Pier (6 miles). Water enthusiasts will be delighted with the sailing and canoeing facilities at Coniston Boating Centre (6 miles), but Fido may have to watch from the water’s edge with one of his humans. Walkers, cyclists and stick-chasers will never tire of the abundance of stunning trails through the Lake District, from the routes around the famous Old Man of Coniston to the fabulous woodland trails at Grizedale Forest (10.5 miles).
