There’s a handy open-plan kitchen/diner on the ground floor also, providing a great spot for packing up picnics, preparing romantic dinners and rewarding Fido and Rover with a treat or two!


Wander through the pretty Scottish village and find yourselves at Cullen Beach (500 metres), a glorious expanse of golden sand that surrounds Cullen Bay. Pack your tennis balls and let man’s best friend stretch their legs to their heart’s content, as dogs are welcome all year round at this seafront spot. Be sure to enjoy long walkies along the coast, travelling to Spey Bay (11 miles) and spotting pods of dolphins on the route. The picturesque fishing village of Portsoy (5.5 miles) boasts a 17th-century harbour, vibrant local music scene and annual Scottish Boat Festival. Stroll the winding streets and pick up a piece of jewellery crafted from the famous Portsoy marble, some of which can be found in the Palace of Versailles. Make sure you sample some of the diverse flavours of ice cream in the well-regarded artisan parlour, with over 100 flavours on offer.

Take to the waters of the Moray Firth for a relaxing wildlife cruise. Set sail from Macduff Harbour (15 miles) in search of dolphins, seals and minke whales. Listen to the sounds of the mammals beneath the waves with the onboard underwater microphones. Spot puffins, razorbills and guillemots as you traverse the water. Once you disembark, why not visit the Macduff Marine Aquarium to encounter the sea creatures that live along the Moray Firth, including rays, dogfish and kelp?

Lovely comfortable and relaxing place to stay with easy access to all local amenities. Cosy living space with the fire on. The house has a lovely secluded garden area which is a sun trap.
