This lovingly restored cart shed is an ideal base for those wanting a rural holiday in the Kent countryside.
This converted cart house is a fantastic base for exploring the wild Kent marshes, with their nature reserves and easy, flat walking trails. There’s space for two humans and two dogs, or you can book it with the neighbouring property to double the space. It’s close to the Cliffe Pools Nature Reserve, where you’ll find walks galore and lots of wildlife to spot. The ancient village of Cliffe, along with the nearest pub and takeaway, is less than half a mile away.
The single-storey property is bright and airy and makes a comfortable home-from-home for both humans and canines. Enjoy relaxing in the open-plan living space, with its comfy sofas, dining table and fabulous countryside views. There are doors right out onto the garden, ideal for summer days chilling out and playing ball. There, you’ll find a terrace, outdoor seating and a BBQ. You can enjoy the views, sip a drink and sizzle up some sausages while the dogs burn off some energy.
There are lots of fabulous walks in the area over the atmospheric marshes and along the Thames seawall. You’ll find paths along the inland creeks and streams as well as along the coast. It’s a place where time seems to stand still (even if the dogs don’t) and you’ll truly experience that ‘away from it all’ feeling. For beach walks, head to Allhallows, a quiet seaside town 8 miles away. If you’re after shops, restaurants and a dash of culture, head to historic Rochester, 6 miles away.
Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.
