This wonderful barn conversion, set in its own orchard garden, blends traditional features with comfortable accommodation in an idyllic location close to the village of Hope. With two bedrooms, this property provides the perfect opportunity for the whole family, including the four-legged members, to enjoy a rural break with glorious countryside walks straight from the front door. Grab the lead and walk the Pennine Way which begins at nearby Edale or stroll to one of the dog-friendly pubs in the village for a hearty meal and a local ale.

The two ground floor bedrooms, one double and one twin, have exposed beams and views across the lovely garden. Upstairs is the open-plan living accommodation where guests can share a sociable meal in the spacious kitchen/diner. Comfortable sofas are perfect for curling up in and relaxing after a busy day exploring while your dog snoozes at your feet. The family bathroom is also on this level. Tails will be wagging as you stroll the gardens and take in the uninterrupted views across the valley; all the family can put their paws up at one of the picnic benches dotted around the grounds and enjoy an al fresco supper or sociable drink.

Stroll to the pretty village of Hope (0.5 miles) and discover the 13th-century church with its famous gargoyles and Saxon cross. Browse the independent shops and purchase some local produce in the deli or enjoy a late lunch in one of the dog-friendly pubs. The Pennine Way starts at Edale (5.5 miles) or walk to Kinder Scout and enjoy the breathtaking views. Join the Monsal Trail at Bakewell (12.5 miles) and sniff out the perfect picnic spot. Take the lead and make sure you visit Chatsworth House (14 miles) where you and your furry friend can wander the beautiful gardens.

We came as a family of 4. Two adults and an 11 and 13 year old with our dog. Sams Stable is lovely accommodation with beautiful views. Its very quiet, warm and cozy and had everything you need for a comfortable stay. It was perfect for a walking/ cycling holiday. Well definitely come back.

The cottage satisfies all the requirements for a relaxinng stay and the surrounding area is first class for walking and potential points of interest. Plenty of parking space and a good choice of pubs for an evening meal.

Lovely little cottage, great location. Nice to have chickens and sheep around and fresh eggs too. Great walks from the cottage around the valley. Near enough to tourist activities, yet in a very quiet and secluded location.

This was perfect for our walking holiday in the Peak District. So many great walks from the doorstep or just a very short drive away. Excellent pub 20ish minutes away. And lovely grounds to relax in after a day's walking. Had a great time. Owner very helpful.
