This delightful property near the village of Harpley in the Norfolk countryside allows families to immerse themselves in the rural tranquillity. Sandringham Estate is only 9 miles away, but you will be able to live like royalty in your own castle, as long as your Labrador doesn’t mind playing the part of a corgi. From your castle grounds, i.e the large garden, you have unspoilt views over fields so why not grab a glass (or bottle) of champers and enjoy the sunset, while Fido sniffs until his heart’s content.
With its gothic-style windows, red brick facade and gravel driveway, it is a sight to behold but inside you will find a lovingly renovated house where you’ll soon feel at home. The spacious lounge/diner has charming features and the warm woods and cool palette create a relaxing atmosphere where you and your canine companion can curl up in front of the roaring fire. The modest kitchen is well-equipped and has views of the garden. Upstairs are two tastefully-decorated, spacious double bedrooms (one with a single bed above) and a contemporary bathroom. Outside, there is a BBQ in the shared garden.
Two-legged and four-legged guests alike will love exploring the natural beauty on offer in this area. The Wash National Nature Reserve and the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are both within 15 miles and offer a wealth of dog-friendly footpaths and trails. You can also explore the Sandringham Estate – be sure to practise your curtseys – or for something closer, but no less magnificent, visit Houghton Hall and Gardens (1.5 miles), but please be aware that your four-legged friends will have to stay at home. There are also seaside resorts and beaches, such as Heacham and Hunstanton (15 miles), or the market town, King’s Lynn (15 miles).
